The hotel High Tech President Castellana is located in a privileged area between the Paseo de la Castellana and the bustling Serrano Street, near the Plaza de Colon, National Library and just a short walk from downtown. Near the hotel are the three museums on the Paseo del Arte: Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen, and some of the main shopping streets of the capital as Goya, Alcalá and Velázquez.
"Modern and Convenient"
First of all the Location is amazing, nearby to everything important and close to a subway station, which can connect you to everywhere! The staff was super friendly and ready to help you. The room is modern and very clean, the water pressure is great! The hotel is great and I highly recommend!
"Great location and excellent staff"
Our family chose to stay here during our Easter vacation mostly because of the family friendly accommodations and the hotel's location. The location is in fact, perfect, right between Serrano and Castellana in the Salamanca neighborhood. It is close to metro and taxis and at a walkable distance to many restaurants, and attractions like El Retiro. The staff at the front desk were all very friendly and helpful. They also had great suggestions for area restaurants. We were very pleased with the service we received from them. The hotel itself is small, but nicely appointed and always clean. We had a family room and although it did have the bunk beds for the kids, the room itself is smaller than we expected. Since we had two rooms this was not much of an issue, but it should be noted that they do look bigger in the pictures. They had cute little details for the kids, a teddy bear for each, which they loved. Our only complaint would have to do with the bathrooms. They are not so small in size, but the wash area has absolutely no counter space for toiletries. There is a shower, but no bathtub, which might be a problem if you have smaller children that require a parent's help. Also, the door to the bathroom is semi transparent and does not have a lock, so there is zero privacy. The shower did not have a soap dish, which might seem like a small detail, but there is no place to put your bar of soap or shampoo bottles, except for the shower floor, and that is uncomfortable and unsanitary. An older member of our group complained about this at front desk (since he had back pain and bending over was a problem) and I do have to say that the front desk guy went out of his way to find us suction soap dishes and put them in our showers. We really appreciated that they tried their best to make the experience better for us. All in all, we had a good experience and would recommend this hotel since you can't beat the price for this location and the staff is excellent.
"Pleasure and business"
Very nice hotel and location is the best my husband and I were going to take the hop on hop off bus but you really don't need to if you like to walk. To service is quick food very good. The only thing you need to know is there is no peep hole on door and if you use wash clothes bring your own I'm pretty sure all hotels in spain don't supply you with wash clothes.I only know this because I stayed here the last 2 days of my visit and my husband stayed at another hotel in spain for work. So over all very nice hotel.
"Excellent location and very friendly staff"
We stayed just for a day and everything went very well. Hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The free bikes were a very good add-on. Breakfast is great and definitely worth the price. The location is perfect, close to Colon, between Serrano and Castellana.
stayed at the hotel last week with my partner for 3 nights. It is listed as 4* but in my mind it is only just that- the decor is a little shabby in places and there is not outside space or exercise facilities. Our room was ok and but small and the bathroom was only really functional with low end toiletries that were not replenished with rough towels. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast is okay again but not great. What is good is the location- very central and the price around 120 euro a night. So if you are looking for something reasonably priced and don't plan on spending much time at the hotel give it a go.
