We stayed in this hotel for one night after a long flight from Singapore and train connection from Zurich. The rooms were comfortable (had an interconnecting room with 2 children) and we had a lovely view of the lake. It is very expensive though for what it is. The building is unimpressive, the food (esp room service) is outrageously expensive and we asked for a kettle and tea for the room which took 3 follow up phone calls and an hour wait. Breakfast was nice but in an adjoining annex room. Out of the 6 hotels we stayed in during our trip, it wasn't worth the price we paid for one night and dinner.
I’ve stayed at this hotel a couple of times on business trips and have been pleased. It’s nice, clean and well located, and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely come back again if in Geneva. All that said, the hotel does not reach “spectacular” levels, hence the rating.
"Excellent Service in a Beautiful Hotel"
The rooms were small and nothing to write home about, but the hotel overall was very nice. Service was also excellent. The lobby was grand and opulent. Hermes bath products were a fun luxurious touch.
"Great staff, cold environment, mediocre facility"
Quite unimpressed with this hotel. Despite the staff’s high level of attention to detail, the building is mediocre, public spaces are stale and cold and the bar’s food is absolutely terrible. With a poor location and a facade from the 70’s, I doubt that I will come back.
"Unimpressed with staff"
Should not be ranked as a five-star hotel. The rooms are on the smaller side. Don't fool yourself into thinking you're going to have a good view of the lake (even though the lake is close), because chances are, you won't. Most importantly, I had one of the worst experiences with a hotel staff and management that I have had in years. Both the front desk attendant and the hotel manager flat-out lied to my face multiple times. Then when I finally showed them proof that I had caught them in multiple lies, they decided to do their jobs properly - probably because they don't want to read reviews like this one. I stayed there for three days and left feeling like I had left a crooked card game (where I was the patsy). I will never stay here again. BTW, if you think your Starwood status will help you have a better experience, think again. I'm platinum, and I had to mention that to every staff member I spoke to before they ever acknowledged it. When they finally acknowledged it, each of them essentially disregarded it as worthless.
