Dorsoduro, with its art colleges and university, has long been home to artists, designers, writers and educators. A particular feature of the Hotel San Sebastiano is its convenient location, near the district's 15th century San Sebastiano church and featuring masterpieces by Paolo Veronese and Tiziano Vecellio. It is also near to the Galleria dell' Accademia which holds the collective works of Venetian masterpieces from the XIV to the XVIII centuries.

I think it's only fair that given I have given a 5/5 rating, I go into a little detail as to why Location- near perfect. Only a 20 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of St Marks square, but far enough away to get away from the crowds Staff - one word, fantastic. The guys on reception were more than happy to suggest place to visit, eat, drink. Very knowledgeable. A special mention to the cleaner who done a great job. Waiter and waitress in the morning very attentive. Room - initial thoughts were " dated" However the room went with the Venice theme. Very clean, air conditioned, and comfy bed!! Very good. WIFI signal great also. Breakfast- everything you would want. Great selection All in all, an excellent base to go exploring in beautiful Venice
We have been to Venice in the past, stayed in Dorsoduro (Not the San Sebastiano Garden) and felt ripped off. Tiny room, terrible breakfast and rude staff. HOWEVER, we had a beautiful room lots of space, really good breakfast, taken in the garden with a fountain playing and such helpful, pleasant staff. The night porter who served us drinks from the small bar when we returned in the evening was very welcoming. Thank you
"Lovely hotel near cruise terminal"
Stayed at this hotel prior to boarding our cruise ship The Azamara Quest. It is very close to the smaller cruise terminal near San Basilio ferry. You can walk to the cruise terminal to checkin. It takes approximately 5 mins with luggage. The hotel itself was historical with beautifully appointed old world rooms. The breakfast was amazing with scrambled eggs, endless cappuccinos, bacon, cereal etc. The only complaint that I have was that the toilet seat was loose however it wasn't a big issue as we didn't spend much time in the room. It is in a quiet part of Venice but you can walk to the main square. Front desk staff were very helpful. Free wifi as well. Would definitely stay here again.
"Perfect location for exploring Venice"
A very comfortable hotel in a great location. Not far from the heart of the centre of Venice, it was perfect for our short break and enabled us to walk to everything we wanted to see within minutes. The hotel was quiet and clean. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast set us up perfectly for the day and there was plenty of choice. We will definitely be staying here again.
"Very nice hotel in a lovely area of Venice"
We stayed here 4 nights and enjoyed every moment. The staff is warm, welcoming and very helpful. The hotel gave us a free upgrade to their junior suite, a lovely room with a balcony overlooking a canale. For everyone looking for an excellent hotel in a neighbourhood a bit off the tourist trail, we wholeheartedly recommend this place. We will most definitely book it again on our next visit.
