Hotel Santiago should be your choice if looking for a really nice hotel in Santiago. Beautiful surrounding, not far from the airport and great restaurants all within the hotel. Beds are very comfortable and employees are very welcoming.
"Stunning Views from the Sixteenth Floor"
We were upgraded to a room on the 16th floor. The room itself was large, modern and just a pleasure to be in. But we were gobsmacked by the stunning and magnificent views of the Andes. They were panoramic, sublime views. The club lounge has cocktails from 5.30 to 8 and terrific food and even better views but similar to that from our room. This has to be one of the best club lounges and definitely the best view. A birthday cake sent to my room. How did they know' Nice touch.
"A Warm Welcome in Chile"
This former Grand Hyatt is one of arcitect John Portman’s most spectacular open atrium designs. Our accessible room was dead-on perfect as was the view from the room, the shower, the glass elevators and service in the hotel, restaurants and bars. The property is in transition from Hyatt management to Mandarin Oriental but, other than lack of MO logo paper goods and dishes, I detected not a single glitch or infelicity. Lunch in the Thai restaurant was as close to Bangkok as makes no difference. Luxury buffet breakfasts were daily pleasures. Also, we felt quite safe during our stay. The hotel and grounds are kept secure by uniformed guards disguised as porters and concierges.
"Great hotel staff, pool, restaurants. Not centrally located."
Pros: Extremely attentive staff. iI you stand in the lobby looking slightly as if you have a question, the staff will approach you to see if they can help. Great restaurants on site. (See my separate reviews if interested.) Amazing pool and garden area. Our room was very spacious. Good view facing the pool but was never noisy even when there was an event one night. Free water every day. Some of the things in the room can use a refresh for sure but I see the hotel is in the process of upgrading the rooms. Cons: Not close to the main tourist attractions. About 15 minutes walk from the Metro. It is hard when it is 90 degrees out. Metro was very easy to navigate though. Cab is of course always an option. No in room coffee or tea!! If you have to spend time in the lounge (the area with the piano), I suggest you stick with wine and stay away from food like sandwiches (not good at all) . The service was just as great. In desperate search for coffee one real early morning, we spent over $9 on a cup of weak coffee in a styrofoam cup. You are much better off eating at the restaurants.
"Fabulous hotel, pool and great restaurants !"
Absolutely adored this hotel! The pool is spectacular, the view from our room was fabulous and the Thai restaurant was delicious! Great breakfast too! Would definitely recommend! The Christmas tree was impressive!
