"Wonderful hotel away from the tourist traffic and noise."
Older hotel but well maintained . Looks like it has had upgrades in different parts of the facility. Just a few blocks to the beach and harbor. Has an in house restaurant. Room is small but adequate. Spacious bathroom with a tub and shower combo. Wifi is weak in my room, have to stand by the door for it to stay connected. Have gotten great information on transportation and areas to eat from the staff at the front desk. It also has an outside lounge with a pool.
"Good, comfortable hotel"
A group of 9 men stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It is just what we expected but the biggest letdown is the price of breakfast at €15 per person and it was nothing special for that price. We ended up having breakfast in a nearby cafe for roughly 5-8 euros. The swimming pool is great and the rooms were comfortable. My bedsheet was covered in sand and I had to brush it off. It was 3am when I made the discovery and I was too tired to make a fuss. Superb location but watch out for the pickpockets! Best route to the hotel from the airport is by bus as the metro takes about 40 minutes longer.
"Nice hotel, friendly staff, near the beach but things don't get fixed"
We stayed here for 5 nights in August. The hotel itself is clean and modern and about 5-10mins walk from the beach. The facilities are ok, the pool is quite small so when there's 10 people in it, it feels crowded but the pool/outside seating area is a pleasant place to sit in the evening. Staff are friendly but you get the impression that there aren't enough people to run the hotel because they're always frantically busy. We mentioned a number of faults in our room including the a/c not working several times during our stay but nothing was fixed. The maintenance guy did show up once but he looked very frazzled as if he had a lot to do! I guess the real test of a hotel is whether you would return or recommend it. I don't honestly think I'd do either...
"Junior Suite - Birthday Present"
We were due to fly with Monarch the Monday they ceased trading, so our entire holiday got rearranged, including the hotel. On reflection, a hotel that has availability with less than 24 hours notice may be a sign. On arriving I just felt that the customer service was non existent. No warm welcome at all! The only information we were given was about a taxi return to airport on departure! This was a gift from my husband. He had upgraded our room to a junior suite (not worth the extra money) The room was clean, spacious & the bed was very comfortable. There was no plug sockets or an extra mirror for you to be able to do your hair (if you use straighteners or styling tools.) The room was cleaned, but the bed was never made or toilet roll was not replaced (& we ran out on night 1!) I asked at reception & I was told 'there's some in the reception next to red chairs' (guest toilet!) The hotel was clean, the pool was lovely, sadly shaded for most of the day. Convenient location for the beach though. We chose not to eat or drink at the hotel as no one seemed very friendly. I would return to Barcelona again, but would look at other hotels, rather than return here.
2 or 3' No wash cloths for the face after a long day. Furnishings showing deterioration. No niceties such as shampoo conditioner or lotion. Course we have been staying in 4's and 5's on this trip so maybe this is a natural letdown. It is safe and comfortable.
