Son Mas also offers a serene Spa suggesting a heated pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, anti-stress and beauty treatments, yoga courses, and a full range of traditional massages made with stones and essential oils.
Son Mas is situated in a quiet area on the east-coast of Mallorca, 5km from Porto Cristo and 15km from Porto Colom.
"A completely peaceful break"
My daughter found this quiet spot in paradise and encouraged my husband to book. We have had the most amazing 6 days. The hotel is close to the coast and a great base for exploring but it is a very peaceful place to retreat to at the end of the day. The rooms are all very individual we can recommend room 7 which is very quirky with the tower- it has stairs up to a small sitting room and terrace so may not suit the less mobile. There are 16 rooms all tastefully decorated. We had dinner in the hotel most evenings, it is a limited menu 3 courses each with 2 choices which you are asked to select by noon. It does not disappoint and is served in a beautiful courtyard. The wine list has lots of local wine which we loved; we were inspired to make the trip to visit Toni Gelebert whose passion for his wine was infectious. The staff at Son Mas were all wonderful a big thanks to Tariq for organising massages and booking restaurant on the chef's night off; to Solle for her advice on wines in the evening and places to visit during our stay and to Cynthia who served the legendary breakfasts that others mention in their reviews. We have had a very special holiday and would love to come back.
"Peaceful hotel with friendly service"
We stayed here on our mini moon, needing some serous rest after a busy few months. This hotel has an amazing setting up in the hills near Porto Cristo. The room (17) was lovely and spacious and the restaurant/bar areas are done to a high standard. The infinity pool is amazing with plenty of shade and sun loungers. We tended to eat out in the evenings - Porto Cristo is only 10mins away in a taxi but you can eat in the restaurant if you would prefer - there are different selections each night; though we found the choices a bit limited for us but that is because we are a bit fussy! My few criticisms would be the lack of water available - you have to pay for all water here which is annoying as you can't drink Spanish tap water and it gets very hot. We would have also thought this would be an adults only hotel as its selling point was a relaxing rural hotel but there were a few young children there during our stay which made it slightly less relaxing than we had expected. Overall the service was amazing and we really enjoyed our stay.
"Spanish finca "
Located in the middle in the nature, fool of thees ,palmas and plants .Nice old restored molino .Good decoration, big nice junior rooms .Unfortunately very poor service . Nice spa .Beautiful out side swimming pool .
"4 day stay"
A very peaceful hotel. Large room, enough for four in one room, and a superb pool. Breakfast was more than enough and very efficient, and we dined one night which proved to be a good decision. Very good cuisine. The hotel is very quiet. Yoga was promised but the lady was heavily pregnant and no replacement available. The gym is very small and the bikes, if they have them may not be much use given the dangerous roads you need to cycle on (certainly if with children). However on balance an enjoyable and peaceful stay.
"Definitely not for children.."
5 nights mid July, loved it! Looked back at some previous reviews and agree it could do with one or two more staff and the occassional waiter walking to the fabulous pool to offer drinks but the restaurant staff were very sweet, discrete and efficient. We were horrified when at day 3 of our stay 2 babies appeared with separate couples. This is definitely no hotel for children. Please don't be tempted just to take the money, lets keep this hideaway adults only..
