"5 stars on the Portuguese coast"
Attended work meeting at this location for one week in May. Sad I did not bring my spouse. Rooms were large, modern and clean. Meals were catered by hotel kitchen and all were excellent. Overall this was a great place for the meeting. Although business, there was a lot of social in the evening and this hotel suited that as well. I would hope next time I could do a better chance of exploring the area - grounds were beautiful
"Very customer unfriendly"
I booked 3 of the most expensive rooms in this golf resort/hotel half a year in advance for 3 days of fanatic golf. Unfortunately exact those 3 days the weather was unusual terrible. Not only heavy rainfalls but also thunderstorm so impossible to play golf. When we asked to postpone our prepaid stay to another date due to this, this golf hotel did not want to do anything. No refund and no change of date! This is unbelievable for a golf hotel of this price level. When you can't play golf you do not want to stay 3 days wasting your time. With such a customer unfriendly attitude I do not recommend this hotel to anybody. Many good and customer friendly hotels who are a better and more secure choice that this will not happen you to.
"Luxury in a Remote Spot"
So I had a first floor room, and whilst that can be bad in some places, it was fab here. It meant I had a larger than normal balcony. I could see the sea from my balcony. The room was MASSIVE. Essentially a suite with desk, sofa for lounging, two tv's; one for the bed area and a 40" for the lounge!. The doors were unlocked by RFID and not the normal slots which was unique and a nice touch. What I did find odd was that in a 5* hotel you were charged for coffee in your room, admittedly there was a Nespresso machine in it, but still! Loved the bath that overlooked the balcony but still provided your privacy. Great shower and interesting toilet! The food was lovely and the chefs were able to produce Vegan food easily. On some days I had a special meal created for just me! The outdoor pool was lovely and relaxing and large enough to swim properly in. Plenty of loungers around if wanted with pool towels accessible. The Spa was nice but I didnt use it. The gym however seemed a little dated and could have done with some floor mats for warming up and stretches etc. They could have also done with some more conventional machines, but all in all, a nice facility to have. There is also a clubhouse which we used for a dinner function and was a short walk away from the main buildings. Nicely appointed and overlooking the golf course. The bar was well stocked with a vast array of quality drinks. The Sommelier [Miguel] really knew his drinks and always made the right choice of mixer with spirit. Would I return, hell yeah.
"Very good hotel but..."
We stayed for three nights in March. The rooms are beautiful very big and bright with a terrace and good bed. We were promised an upgrade to sea view but you had to stick you head out to see the sea. We asked the staff if this was the upgraded room and they said we would have to pay extra!! In the end they changed us and admitted they did it wrong. The indoor pool rate was included so that was good because to pay for that would be a bit much. The hamam wasn't working and we had to call two nights in a row for towels. The staff were all very nice but not very efficient. The breakfast was absolutely superb. The selection of fruit was out of this world. Service very good too. Room service was very efficient and friendly. I would advise a car as going for dinner in Cascais is a good idea. There are some excellent restaurants. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would go back. Charging 2 euros for a Nespresso in your room is a bit mean....
I stayed here for 7 days for work meetings. Rooms are huge and offer great views. The staff was very accommodating. I would highly recommend Uber over taxis. From Lisbon airport to the hotel Uber was around 36 Euros, a taxi was between 60-90 Euros. An Uber into Cascais was normally around 5, 5.5 Euros. Breakfast was pretty good, but I wasn't blown away by the main restaurant menu, the Snack menu was much better.
