Immersed in leafy green surroundings and only a 10 minute stroll from the throbbing city center, this elegant hotel offers staggering views of the waterfront, as well as easy access to all of Stockholm’s main attractions, including the Vasa Museum and Stockholm Cathedral. The Stockholm Arlanda Airport is merely a 40-minutes drive. The city’s train station can be reached in less than 10-minutes by taxi.
"Amazing spot in Stockholm"
We returned to Villa Källhagen very much because of the amazing environment, by the channel and close to Djurgården and in fact city. The hotel has high ambitions and does its best to keep a high standard.
"Green location, disappointing breakfast"
Stayed two nights. Front desk friendly and welcoming. Nice room, a little old fashioned 70’s style but relaxed colours and deco. Asked for room with canal view but it was so-so. Apparently only very few rooms have real canal view. Shelves are hidden behind a rotating wardrobe. Smart or disfunctional' Guests may forget stuff in there. No safety box. Rather loudly towards adjacent rooms. Bathroom small but nice and functional (no flood after shower), except for one important detail: The shower is placed in a bath tub with a high edge. Very inconvenient to get in and especially out of, uncomfortable and maybe risky business. I would suggest at least a rubber mat in bath tub. Breakfast restaurant has great atmosphere. But choice and taste far below what you would expect from a hotel with a gourmet restaurant. Seems not to be prioritized. The real asset - worth a four stars review - is the excellent location very close to the green park areas of Djurgaarden and around Kaknästornet. Extra bonus is the option to borrow bicycles free of charge. Bus line #69 which stops outside hotel will bring you to Central Station in 12-15 min. Alternatively walk to Kungsträdgården metro station in 25 min.
"Relaxing waterside hotel close to the sights of Stockholm."
We loved the location and atmosphere of Villa Kallhagen. It was in a lovely green area but easy to walk or get a bus into town. Restaurant had a limited menu but we ate there several times and had excellent meals and friendly service.
"Great place for a relaxing stay"
This hotel is known for its great restaurant and its cosy atmosphere. The service is personal, and its always good to come back. The rooms are great, the food good and the service excellent. I would recommend the burgers and the pale ale.
"Best hotel for those who like nature and organic"
This Villa locates in the nature, surrounded by waterfront and green park. Very quiet. I enjoyed walking. For sightseeing, It is a little time to go to the city center, but easy frequent access by bus 69. Bus stop is 1 minutes walk. You can enjoy both city and nature. Reception staff kindly sell me SL access card, which is an IC card for subway, bus, tram. It is fairly near to Rosendals Garden, famous for organic. Room is enough large compared to city center hotels where sometimes one can managed to open his/her suit case. Especially, there is a roof light window in the bath room. This is very original. I was impressed by natural light in the daytime and I saw white clouds move in the night. There is large bathtub with plenty of hot waters. Complimentary mini-bar. Breakfast are very nice. Especially, hot meals are kept hot in the french LE CREUSET pots, bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, omelets with mushrooms, baked beans and so on. Breads are relatively small kinds, but enough and gluten free breads are served. Real orange squeeze juice. There are also many cold meals, ham, cheese, yogurt. Newspaper service at the lobby, FT and local newspapers. Formal dinner was delicious. Especially, Dry aged beef with rich taste sauce.
