They took great care of us and made it easy to store luggage and still gave us access to all the amenities at the hotel before our room became available. The only downside was the number of unsupervised kids using the hot tub.Comment of W. Kirsten , United States the 2016-07-29
The location, setting, and overall experience were all fantastic. Great value for the money, exceptional service, hassle-free booking and reservation -- and most of all, the room was amazing. Excellent decor, well equipped, super comfortable bed, and great marina view. Hyatt remains at the top of their game. Our experience could not have been better -- the only thing wrong was that we wish we could have stayed longer! Five stars all the way, from the time we booked until the time we checked out.Comment of S. Kevin , United States the 2016-07-05
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. So close to sea world and the view was beyond amazing.Comment of B. Christopher , United States the 2016-04-22
"My son was injured, no remorse from hotel"
Date was August 2015. below the date option is not available. We had a good time at the hotel in the beginning. The Hyatt has a cement beach pool for the kids, while the kids were playing in the water of the beach pool which was slippery (kids were slipping) my son happened to slip and broke his front tooth. A kind manager came to the room and had a medic check him and took a report, great. Now, when we got home I called the hotel and they directed me to the legal dept. I received a call from Karen Swierc from Gallager Bassett Services, Inc. Karen was rude and had no sympathy for my son. She gave me 6 months verbally (documents state one year) to have my sons tooth fixed and said they may pay for it. At the time of the accident, I just had major surgery a month earlier, and my doctor allowed me to go with caution, since it was a pre-planned trip. I took my son to a dentist, but when they drugged him it didn't take soon enough and he had a horrible experience and the tooth wasn't fixed. I couldn't carry my son from the dentist, my friend had to come and help me. At this point my son is still scared to get his tooth fixed. Karen had said there is a settlement up to $5,000.00 with proof of expenses within in one year. The tooth was never fixed. what about his pain and suffering' We haven't been to a Hyatt Hotel since.
"Not your Typical Hyatt, and not in a good way :( "
We stay at Hyatt Hotels and resorts all the time. This resort, by far was the worst one we have stayed at in all of our travels. Where to begin.. Check in is 4 pm, are room was not ready yet. During our check in process, the individual who checked us in was VERY rude, not at all what i would expect from your typical Hyatt employee. We had pre- paid for our room, so the only thing to be charged on our credit card should have been room incidentals. Instead, she set up for us to be charged again for our room, plus set the pet fee to be recurring ( which is not the Hyatt pet policy). I'll get into that later. She did not give over any of the resort and the amenities with the resort. She was just plain rude, she acted as if we we "the hotel guest" were bothering her. Next when we arrived in our room, the Lani King with Fireplace, we noticed that the porch light was not working, as well as a few stair lights. Not dangerous during the day, however at night with small children very. The room was beautiful, nicely done. It looked to be recently remodeled. The bed was great, Hyatt quality for sure! We ate at the restaurant on site, the Red Marlin. It was nice, the pricing was a bit overpriced for the quality. Our kid's meals were the best. The resort does not have any 24hrs guest shop or refreshment/ store. The hours are very hit or miss, no set hours. The guest shop was closed both time I went during the day (around 11 & again around 3). The pool was very crowded. The website shows awesome views of the pool area, however it certainly did not live up to the photos. On a side note, the hotel was completely sold out, but still sold pool/ amenities passes to the general public. This along with the individual that have amenities access with the Marina, make the pool very over crowded. On Saturday and Sunday, they did host kids events. My daughter loved the making Salsa event. We stayed 5 nights. One night it took almost ONE and HALF hours to get a blanket for our daughter! Crazy! The following night we had a fore cliff moving event tables and chairs at 11pm at night in front of our room. $37/night for parking (self and valet). I spoke with Front Dest Manger twice a out the billing, issues. Took a third conversation to get everything finally corrected. The manager did end up waving the pet fee for us. Overall, the resort DID NOT live up to what we were expecting.
The rooms weren't very clean. Staff was friendly. On two separate occasions, we asked the front desk for items that were never delivered to our room. We also asked housekeeping to vacuum up a spill and they never arrived. The location is descent - a short walk to the bay and a short drive to th beach. The Swim restaurant has decent food - a little over priced. The pools are perfect for kids.
"Dont be deceived"
I would expect a 4 star hotel with a week day price of close to $300 to be a lot nicer. The only draw appears to be families with small children for the water slides. One restaurant on site has very good food but nothing else close by to eat at or walk to.
"Very old, very poorly maintained Hyatt- don't stay here expecting quality"
I am finishing a 3 day stay here. I booked here because of a conference I was attending. My conference was great, but I was extremely disappointed in the hotel quality. When booking, the fee quoted was a "discounted" rate of $219. When I checked in, I was told there was an additional $50 per night "resort fees", I was quite taken aback. The building itself was extremely dated, the carpet dirty and stained, only 2 lamps in the large room, one of which didn't work, Extremely noisy, very loud music played outside till 10 pm, plus very loud partying going on in the pools. Being on the 8th floor, I wouldn't have thought I would hear everything so clearly, but the windows are probably 1960's vintage. An extremely disappointing stay.
