"Great location, the rest is just ok."
We stayed at the Hyatt to attend Jerry Seinfeld at the new ICC theatre and the location was fantastic. An easy ten minute walk through a door at the back of the hotel restaurant straight out on to cockle bay wharf. But that is where the fantastic ended for me. The staff on check in were nice but uninformative with regard to valet and breakfast options. For this reason we chose to go out each morning for breakfast. I still don't know how much the buffet would cost to have there. We also didn't know there was valet parking so parked across the road and lugged our bags over. When we did finally work it out(for a cost of $70 per day) we decided to take advantage of it as the cost of parking was crazy anyway. We were going to take our car out to visit a friend the next morning and asked the valet out the front what we do, as in bring the car back to them or what, he said no you park it in the car park. Then what are we paying you for' On our return we pulled up to the hotel and had the valet park our car, as it should be done. We went up to the roof top bar after dinner and I found this to be lacking. My husband wanted wild turkey which there was none and being pregnant I wanted a lime and soda which I was given soda water with a tiny piece of lime squeezed on top. Have you ver tried this' It tastes just like soda water, who would order that' I asked for some lime juice cordial and was given more squeezed lime juice as sour as anything. I couldn't drink it, might as well have had water but being in a bar wanted something a bit nicer. We left quickly and went back to our room. If I was to go back to the Hyatt regency I would request a room not on level 3 as our harbour view was block by the below rooftops. Also our room was quite near the lift which was noisy. The noise coming from the nearby night club was also annoying when trying to sleep at night and all you can hear was loud bass. We were obviously given the first timers room, they must save the nicer ones for return guests or something'
"Location is Good, Hotel is Okay"
This was my first visit. I stayed here because of a co-located business event. My experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I had a harbor view room - which was the biggest plus - but the room itself felt tired. It was clean, the WiFi was good, and the open shower was cool. It's located right next to the harbor, so you're within walking distance of great places to eat - including the Opera House and The Rocks.
"Staff was simply overwhelmed"
When flights arrive before checking time, hotel staf are always challenged, this stall was overwhelmed, they promised to text or call customers when rooms were ready; that did not happen. I was finally able to enter my room at 4pm after arriving at 8am. The room had a wonderful view of the harbor but was about 25 meters from the rooftop bar entrance, the management made no attempt to limit noise from the bar; on Friday and Saturday nights no sleep was possible until 2am. I attempted to make reservations for dining with the concierge on Saturday, I made my request in person at 4pm with the understanding that I would be contacted by 6; there was no attempt to call the room. Each time I contacted the bell desk for any luggage service, there was only ONE very stressed bellman available and TWICE required 15 minutes simply to get his attention. On the final day I was informed that late checkout was not available. I was NEVER asked for any opinion about the quality of my stay by ANYmember of the staff. If this is all Hyatt has to offer, I see no reason to ever book the REGENCY brand, ever again.
"Its a Hyatt but a bit pricy"
Yes it's a Hyatt, and looks like one. The staff is pretty good except for the bar staff, who didn't really have their act together. The rooms are comfortable. there is a roof top bar with great views, but if you want an after-work-table, better make a reservation.
"Great location for a great hotel."
The location of this hotel was excellent, it was a short distance to the 'Captain Cook' ferries, Wildlife and Sydney Aquarium. It was a short walk up the street to the Westfield shopping center that hosts the Sydney Tower Eye.

Please note, due to an ongoing redevelopment project until June 2016, construction noise is expected. The hotel will try to ensure there are minimal disruptions during this period.
