Tucked away on the famous Gran Via in the city centre, the luxury Hotel de las Letras is just 10 minutes away from La Puerta del Sol and La Plaza de Cibeles next to Atocha Station. Guests are only 5 minutes away from a metro station offering easy access to the rest of the city. Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport is 25 minutes away.
Gracias.Comment of A. Cristina , Spain the 2016-03-23

"GOOD QUALITY & VALUE HOTEL"
The hotel is located on Gran Via one of Madrid's busiest roads & this central location is an easy walk to many attractions, shopping & restaurants. A metro station is also very close by,providing an economical and quick transfer to the airport The rooms are a good size with contemporary decor & well equipped with all your needs. However the room internal lighting was poor & there was no coffee/tea making in the room & no free bottled water which is common in so many hotels these days.We had a room overlooking the street at the hotel rear so it was reasonably quiet. For a large hotel in a major european capital we found the room only tariff to be very good value. A special commendation to the Reception staff - we arrived several hours ahead of check-in time due to unexpected changes to our flight & they arranged a room immediately which was really helpful for my ill husband
"A very well situated hotel"
This hotel has the perfect location in the busiest streets of the capital. Shops are close by and it is in a walking distance of the main attractions. The liking of a hotel is very personnal. This hotel was modern /sober decor not to our liking. Howver it was very clean and everything needed was there. On entrance the reception reminded us of a box or where you leave your coats when going to the theatre. No plants, no flowers, no pictures and very much so all round the hotel. The staff however was very pleasant very polite and helpful. We particularly appreciated a young lady called Thias. The lack of fluent English was often a problem but we did not speak Spanish. However in an international city, the staff should be able to understand the basic. With a bit of patience and smiles , we got there. We appreciated that end of September/October is not the main touristic flow but still... The corridors again were all white with bits of quotations here and there but clinical and a meagre narrow red carpert brought a bit of life. Bedroom in the same style modern/sober. Bed comfortable. quiet room as at back. Lights were insufficient for older eyes. Room without a soul. Bathroom adequate. Breakfast in the restaurant was at an expensive £20 a head per day. Again poor lights. Staff there very efficient and helpful. You could have anything you wished. Not a bad hotel but beyond what we are used to. Expensive but surely paying for location. There is a garden roof with bar. small but pleasant. view not of great interest. You can also get easily lost in this hotel.
A friend and I stayed at the hotel for four nights in September. The hotel is centrally located in the City center. We had a super room which was comfortable, but not overly warm and inviting. Limited storage and area for relaxing. The best part of the room was the roof top terrace and jacuzzi. This space was amazing and afforded great views and privacy. It was the perfect spot to relax and recharge after a day of sight seeing and soaking in the jacuzzi was a wonderful respite before heading out for dinner. The staff was very nice, but Alex was extremely helpful and went the extra mile to make sure we had what we needed and to help with travel arrangements and transportation.
"Don’t forget to bring earplugs."
IBEROSTART Las Letras Gran Via is a nice hotel with a central location. We arrived in the evening and got a warm welcome in the reception. The check in was as expected, but they could improve the language skills in the reception. Then things would have been easier. The hotel and the room gives a good impression. My room was clean and nice. The bathroom was large and it had a nice shower (in the bathtub) with plenty of hot water. To save power the air condition is turned off. Remember to turn it on before you go to bed. The sound proofing between the rooms was excellent (or the neighbouring room was empty). The sound proofing towards the street was not existing, I don’t know why they cared about installing windows.
"Great hotel in an excellent location"
We decided on a 3 day city break in Madrid and chose this hotel because of the reviews and we were not disappointed. Clean and modern hotel, well appointed rooms which were really comfortable. Also a great roof top bar with fantastic views across the city. What made our stay very special was the team on the front desk, Thias, German and Alex in particular could not do enough to help us get the most from our stay. From restaurants to places of interest, they found the information and made the bookings always helpful and friendly. I have stayed at a lot of high end hotels with front desks that are not a scratch on this team. When we return to Madrid we will definitely stay here again. I nearly forgot to mention, the hotel is very close to Gran Via Metro station which is the cheapest and fastest way to get to and from the airport. Check out YouTube for how to use the airport self service ticket machines.
