"World Class Hospitality and Accommodations!"
A true sample of excellent hospitality! Without doubt one of my favorite hotels I have worked with and stayed at during my career as a corporate event coordinator! The staff was top notch; their customer service levels are far superior to any hotel I have worked with before. I have very high expectations to deliver a world class event and I would choose to work with them everytime if I could! I worked with the Senior Banquet Sales Executive's Bart Antonissen and Selwin Dekkers for months from the other side of the world and we had the best event to date thanks to their dedication!! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and general manager, our names were mentioned on the board and we were upgraded to Suites with views of the river. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant and catering were very flexible (appreciate this!) and the restaurant supervisor deserves a special thanks. We had two great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience. Amsterdam was extremely beautiful and I truly enjoyed walking through the city during the days and at night. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a peaceful and down to earth environment. I would highly recommend the Amstel! The atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the general manager who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality! Stayed March 2017, traveled for business and extended my stay to travel with friends (I spent two and a half weeks at this hotel! It was sweet!)
What a fantastic place, mainly due to the attentiveness of the staff. My wife and I stayed for three nights over a weekend and we were really made to feel at home. We had a river view room on the 1st floor which was comfortable and spacious and this is definitely to be recommended. Breakfast is varied an lavish, though expensive at 38 Euros a head
"Treated like royalty"
This hotel would normally be out of our price range but we were lucky to be given 2 free nights as part of our Tauck River Cruise. When we entered the lobby, I felt like we had stepped on to the Downton Abbey set - so magnificent. Our room was very well-appointed and comfortable. The restaurant had excellent food and service and overlooked the Amstel River. We found this an excellent location for walking to restaurants, canals and downtown attractions. A special shout-out to the concierge who when my previously booked online tour of Keukenoff Gardens didn't happen, quickly arranged an English speaking taxi who would take us to the gardens and then wait for us to return back to Amsterdam - thanks so much as those gardens were the highllight of my trip to Europe!
A performance at Carre' and a visit at the Hermitage Museum made us decide to stay a long weekend at the Amstel Hotel. The drive up appearance was good, excellent service and an eye for detail by all staff members including the concierge who was very helpful in assisting us. The breakfast was nice located at the edge of the Amstel river and the brasserie was enjoyable as well. The fill up time for the bath tube is incredible, in a blink of an eye the bath tube is filled up. All around a very pleasant stay. When we departed on the Monday, on our way back we visited Keukenhof while we managed to get the tickets from the concierge to avoid standing in line. Good service.
The rooms were amazing and very spacious! The location could not be more perfect, everything was nearby! The staff treated us very well, one could say we felt like royalty. The views from the breakfast room and terrace were amazing! As a fan of architecture, this hotel was amazing, with beautiful scaffolding and works of art around the hotel. I highly recommend for anyone!
