When we arrived, the hotel was packed with the Berlin marathon guests, however, there was never an issue of reduced service despite hotel is full. We were given free upgrade because the room we booked was not ready, and room was beautiful and spacious. However, the best is the service. We requested assistance on our coffee machine, and within 5 minutes someone arrived at the door...not only showed us how to operate it, but waited for me to try it out to make sure all is good. Love the freshly squeezed orange juice they serve during breakfast every morning too. Only reason the hotel doesnt get a full 5 star is because it is slightly further away frm the public transport, abt 10 mins walking to the zoo station. Btw, if you stay here, make sure you check out the zoo, it’s excellent.
We stayed in a Club Senior Suite for 8 nights and had a brilliant time. The staff was very friendly, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast, tea, snacks and canapés in the Club Lounge were very nice. We also used the swimming pool on most nights. The pool has a decent size, and the same goes for the whirlpool next to it. There's also a sauna area with several options, which we didn't use ourselves, but they looked clean and comfortable.
"Warm and comfortable"
The Intercontinental is centrally located in Berlin. About 15 minutes drive from main railway station and close to the underground station of the Zoo. The main markets are also close by. The rooms are modern, slightly small but comfortable. Have all the conveniences. The window opened to the street with a canal, not a very bad view. The staff is the biggest positive. Be it the reception, lobby, housekeeping or restaurant. The food was good.Since we were a busy lot, the only meals I had was breakfast which was always good. The staff very helpful and pleasant. Would recommend this place anytime.
We spent three days and were quite pleased. Nice room overlooking the zoo towards gedachtniss kirche. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Wifi above average. Gym was ok. The spa is an extra 15 euro. I could stay there again.
