"Very Nicely Integrated Hotel with Ancient Town"
The architects did a good job of the place, integrating this resort with the ancient town. Although it is located in the southern tip of the ancient town, all the walks out to the key sites and streets within the ancient town were pleasant via a back gate in the resort. Our stay here for 3 nights was peaceful and the experience was welcoming. We stayed here 1 week before the school holidays in China and were the only other guest in the club lounge. It was well maintained and the lounge staff were attentive and helpful. Anna was really helpful, she even suggested sending ginger tea to my room when I needed to go back to rest after a long day traveling around the sights. Food in the hotel's Chinese restaurant was good too, they had a promotion when we were there and the food was a good break from the oily food from the restaurants around. Staff were attentive and even though we turned up 15 minutes from closing. Breakfast is well laid out, lots of choices. The juices are really good and they will even customise them to your needs. There is an excellent do it yourself noodle bar. Only complaint was while we were there, some workers were replanting the flowers beds and it got a bit dusty at stretches.
"STAY HERE! JUST DO IT!"
I just simply can't say enough about the Intercontinental LiJiang Ancient Town Resort. I have nothing bad to say about it at all. In fact I have many, many good things to say! The views from the property to the mountains are absolutely breathtaking - really breath taking ( I should mention that we stayed here in March, so we had crisp beautiful sunny skies with snow on the mountain)! The location is very good. One could easily walk to shops and restaurants. One morning I walked to the local market - just what I was looking for; it was quite authentic early in the morning. My suite was just lovely, really lovely. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious, as one might expect in the better hotels of China. The staff was professional and helpful. We made last minute arrangements for our group of about 14 of us friends to arrive a night early and the hotel staff graciously accommodated us. Check in was smooth. The bell staff drove us to our respective quarters in little golf carts. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. I recommend that you make it a point to stay at the Intercontinental when in Lijiang Ancient Town; in fact, come to Lijiang Ancient Town so that you can stay at the Intercontinental :-).
"Excellent location, comfortable room"
We stayed at Intercontinental Lijiang for 2 nights during our recent visit in Yunnan. It is a beautiful resort with strong ethnic decor. Buggy service is available for travelling within the resort. Lijiang Ancient Town is at the doorstep. Our room was well appointed. The open bathroom had bathtub and separate shower and toilet compartments, and there were sliding doors to close it should one opt for more privacy. The breakfast buffet had decent spread. Highly recommended.
"A very large resort hotel"
The intercontinental lijiang hotel is next to the old city. This is one of the biggest, nicest hotels in the area but it's in need of some maintenance. The room are spread out, a golf cart takes you to your room. Six or eight large two story buildings house 10 rooms each. The room is decorative and very large, lots of room inside and a big bathroom also. There is a spa, several restaurants and of course a pool. Several water features around the property are not working and contain stagnant water. I don't know if this is temporary but it's not working now.
"Unique 5-star experience!"
This is one of the most unique and beautiful properties I've stayed at globally. It's made to look like its own self-contained "ancient" town, mirroring its surroundings with a 5-star touch. It is obvious that a lot of thought was put into the design of just about everything in the hotel. The woven patterned wood walls in the lobby, the bell-covered ceilings in the lobby bar, the immaculate gardens etc. Rooms rooms are in villas so you actually enter two doors to get to your room. We had clubroom which had a separate receiving area. There's a shared outdoor courtyard with others in your villa (3 -4 rooms). The decor in the room follows the old wood/stone feel with an inviting bath. Facilities Pool is big and long, good for laps. There's a good playroom for kids too with toys and an xbox. Gym is well equipped. Location Really good location. It's within the ancient town but not in the center of it which means you have road access. I wouldn't want to lug my suitcase over cobblestone. It's maybe a 10 min walk to square street. Fantastic hotel and highly recommend!
