"4 Star hotel (I'm being very generous)"
Check in was smooth. But nothing special about the hotel other than its location (for convention participant at the COEX), the subway station is pretty far and it can be a long haul if you are traveling with luggage. My cousin and I stayed for 2 nights and paid well over $300 a night. Is it worth the money' Well, if you read my other reviews I'm not a high roller... that said, here's my take on the hotel; Good: 1) The Casino - if you like gambling it is connected to the hotel (I'm not a gambler) 2) Nice Fitness center (to use the Sauna you have to cough up US$40.00) 3) Location (great for the tradeshow goers at COEX, which I wasn't) 4) Clean rooms Bad: 1) Greeter at the lobby floor and Workers in overall - Not friendly 2) Disappointing room size and ugly putting Green carpet Ugly: 1) Expensive 2) Breakfast (US$35.00) 3) Coffee (US$12.00) 4) Subway station too far (choose IC Parnas Hotel instead, subway is right next to it) My final verdict: I've been to 5 star hotels in China back when and this is definitely not in their league, it should be more like 3, maybe 4 Star at the most.
I stayed during October for a couple of days the reception staff and concierge staff were polite and competent The rooms are clean tidy and cozy, the restaurant has good quality breakfast this is a hotel that I will return to
"Best hotel ever"
The best hotel I've stayed in anywhere in the world. Amazing location, fantastic breakfast and incredible customer care. Hoteliers the world over could learn a lot from observing how this hotel looks after its guests making everyone feel like an individual and very special.
"Extreme Lack of Service Attitude. Casual Travelers BEWARE!"
1) Unhelpful Ambassador desk I had requested for my luggage to be sent over from Grand Intercontinental (previous stay 2 nights before) and was told by the bell service at Grand IC that the luggage will be delivered by 12pm on the day I checking into IC COEX. During check in at the IC COEX Ambassador desk, I mentioned about needing my luggage for my spare baby items but without checking, she kept brushing me off and said the luggage will definitely be delivered to my room once they had received it and hastily chase me to the lift lobby . I waited until late night and went to the bell desk where the luggage had already reached them for a while. 2) Unwelcoming staff at fitness level I went to the counter at the fitness level and told her I am a hotel guest and wanted to check out the fitness room. I showed her my door key card and the lady manning the counter asked me for my room number and full name to verify my identify before finding many excuses to hint at me to leave. 3) Poorly handled spill incident Chose complimentary drinks instead of welcome points. Lobby lounge lady was extremely unwelcoming. She glared at us from top to bottom with widened eyes when heard we are redeeming the complimentary drink. She just dropped the menu on the table and very impatiently took our order. When the juice arrived, the waiter spilled juice all over the floor and table and onto me and my baby. In a very unapologetic way, he started cleaning the table and threw a stack of tissue papers on the table while gesturing me to clean the table around my area instead of checking on me and my baby or changing our table. He didn’t once look at us in the eye to apologise and have a smirk on his face. Another lady came over to help wipe the table (the same lady that usher us into the lounge) and gave us a very angry face and walk away. 4) Untrained staff. Different information provided Different information about mini bar entitlement provided at Ambassador check in desk, Instant Service hotline, and check out counter. 5) Unhelpful bell desk Asked for bell desk to help my wife (carrying our baby) tug luggage to the limo busstop. The bell desk pointed to the busstop and said "its very near", and proceed to help other business guest. 6) Beware of currency charged Bought the limo bus ticket from the checkout desk. The bus ticket is in KRW but IC COEX will charged you USD! I am disputing the currency and it has been a week since the issue was brought up to the hotel. No response at all. Overall, if you are not in suit and tie, you are not welcomed in this hotel. The Ambassador desk, fitness level, lobby lounge, and bell desk were very eager to serve business travelers and not casual travelers. Very upset to end my trip with such bad service. The worst IC I have ever experienced.
"One of the best hotels - Impressive Property and Great Location"
A great property with some of the best facilities. The hotel is located in central Seoul and accessible to the COEX mall with the Asia Live Kitchen. One of the only hotels in Seoul to provide you Indian food inside the hotel restaurants. The rooms are great and have a good view if you have the temple view rooms. The facilities are great with a good bed to sleep and some great toiletries. The rooms also have a paid micro store with ultra luxury brands available. The property is located in COEX mall and you can walk down to enjoy the great facilities. When in Seoul, this is a property of choice.
