Currently featuring Taste of Britain in their Lounge 777. Accurate word is 'Taste' because traditional fish and chips would have only been that! It was two tiny nuggets and a handful of dubious looking wedges. Sent it back!
"Great breakfast/room service, pretty good room, only average infrastructure"
Stayed here on business for 3 nights and overall was a decent stay. The main benefit of the hotel is the great service of the staff (breakfast, room service and doormen) and the expansive breakfast and good quality room service offering. Room was fine and cleaned well daily. The major disappointments were i) very poor internet for such a modern city ii) very slow elevators iii) very average / repetitive buffet and teas during our conferencing. For some reason, I could not secure IHG points d/t being booked via my group, although I had to actually pay for the stay and conferencing fee using by credit card and the cost of the room was not materially different from what is advertised on booking websites. Didn't get any room upgrade d/t IHG status, but did appreciate the 2 pm late checkout. Overall, not a bad stay but would probably look at other options next time in Shanghai, given the wealth of choice available.
"Large rooms and nice common space"
Hotel is undergoing renovations which are needed but the newer areas were very nice. Great breakfast spread. Room was big, modern and very clean. Good location for the subway and it was walkable to the river.
"Excellent Hotel & Welcoming Staff"
I stayed at this hotel as I was visiting Shanghai on business. First impressions of the hotel exterior was good. With staff aided taking my luggage while I was being checked in. As a IHG member I was checked in the priority area. The check in process was excellent and I was made to feel very welcome. I stayed in the club level rooms which had been recently refurbished. Quite spacious room and well facilitated with large tv, full size desk and modern bathroom. I had dinner in the hotel the first night and food service was good. I especially liked the Oriental restaurant on the first floor. There was a little English language problems with some of the waitress staff, but there was someone near who could speak good English. Breakfast was also very good and they had a good selection of food for any international traveler. The hotel is fairly well located with under a 10 minute walk to the metro line. I was particularly impressed by the guest relation managers. Angel, Haruna & Elena. Their English was excellent and they gave an exceptional high level of customer service to make my stay in Shanghai successful. From travel advise, shopping and ideas of places to visit. The front desk team are a credit to the hotel.
"Excellent business hotel"
Great quality hotel with excellent business style rooms which are very comfortable. Service and breakfast are also good, with the usual wide choice you'd expect in China. All rooms encircle a huge, full height central lobby... a look over the edge from a high floor room is not for the faint hearted! Well worth a visit though as it's hard to find a fault with the hotel or the service.
