"Getting a bit tired, but nice hotel with good service. Watch out with the breakfast sales pitch."
I only stayed for one night on a recent business trip to Vienna, but got a bit of a feel for the hotel. Lobby and bar are older in style and decor, but very tasteful and classic. Rooms a a bit tired and could use a refresh, but this is pretty standard for the Intercontinental brand of hotels across Europe. Good location, easy parking (but not cheap), and service is to the high standard that is expected with this type of hotel. Breakfast is good with a great selection, but 28 euros is highway robbery. My colleague agreed to commit to breakfast at the time we checked in, but decided not to eat the next morning. At checkout they refused to remove the charge from the bill even though he did not eat breakfast. This is petty and a big markdown in my book. (and the main reason for the 3 / 5.

"Great Service, Great Location"
Lovely older Intercontinental. The service and hotel all around were excellent but the hotel is due for a renovation, which the staff mentioned is slated to happen in the next year or two. All in all a great stay, our room had an excellent view of the park and we found the concierges to be really excellent - they were really helpful in making our stay in Vienna just lovely. The hotel had one of the best breakfasts I've seen at any hotel ever and I've stayed in a ton of hotels - well worth the ~22 Euro cost pp. Vienna is an expensive city even by European standards so be prepared to get your wallet ready :)
"Great location and aervice"
My husband and I stayed here two nights at Christmas. We walked with our luggage from the Hauptbahnhof - a bit of hike, but doable, especially in decent weather. We were greeted by a very friendly desk clerk who spoke excellent English, and were upgraded to a suite as well. Our corner room overlooked the ice rink behind the hotel, which was fun to watch throughout the day. Our room was incredibly spacious, with a sitting area, large bed, big closet, and good-sized bathroom. The lighting in the bathroom was not great for putting on makeup, and there was only one outlet, so I used the mirror and outlets by the desk as needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the huge breakfast buffet, which featured foods of various world cuisines. The breakfast area was usually quite crowded, but it is a big hotel, so that’s to be expected. I enjoyed the self-serve sparkling wine with breakfast as well! We had a drink at the bar on our second night and enjoyed both the drinks and the great and friendly service. We thought the hotel was lovely, and it’s location across from the Stadtpark U-Bahn Station was great. It is also within easy walking distance of other sights. We highly recommend this hotel!
"Location and Charm!"
We stayed at the InterContinental over the Christmas Holiday. The hotel was perfect for our family. We had two fantastic executive suites as there were 5 of us. 2 adults and 3 teenagers. We all loved the hotel. The rooms were spacious with great views. The lobby was cozy and fun to hang out in. The Gingerbread house was charming and festive. Our favorite was the breakfast. Fantastic selection and absolutely delicious. You can't beat the service or the great location. I booked with the Amex Platinum card Fine Hotel and Resorts program. It is the only way to book a room to get the extra special details. Thank you to the staff for helping us make a memorable Christmas Holiday.
