"Very good and stylish hotel"
Really nice hotel in a very convenient location in Prague. People working here are also really pleasant and helpful.. Breakfast is good, rooms are good.. We got a complementary limousine service from the airport when we arrived ( booked two rooms though(
"Hotel In Central Prague"
Ideally situated hotel (Wenceslas Square) for walks into the interesting sections of the city. Our stone (shared/6th floor) balcony faced out onto the square with great views of the city and beyond. Hotel staff very courteous/helpful/friendly, room comfortable with (when we stayed during the week) no extraneous noise overnight. Good buffet breakfast + we stayed in on our last night and had a very tasty meal downstairs in the restaurant. Loads of bars/restaurants/cafes nearby ~ in fact you're spoilt for choice. There are a lot of Italian restaurants but quite a few authentic Czech ones too. The centre is a bit like a rabbit warren/maze of streets and it's well worth having a map to guide you around. The "whole world" seems to turn out in the main square on the hour to watch the astronomical clock. It's worth paying to go to the top of the tower to see the incredible views. It's also worth crossing one or more of the numerous bridges (the famous Charles Bridge in particular) and exploring the other side of the river where there are several wooded parks. We couldn't get on the funicular railway (big queue) so walked up the hill instead and were presented with fabulous views of the city. Also on this side is the imposing cathedral. Only minor complaint is the cost of going to a public loo! £1.50 is a lot to pay to "relieve yourself"! It's better to pop into a bar or cafe and have a drink. All in all though we had a great time (we also had decent weather which always helps) in Prague and would recommend going Monday to Friday to avoid the hen and stag parties...
"Best location in Prague with a Cold War nuclear bunker thrown in!"
Brought my daughter to Prague for her 18th birthday. I had stayed at the Jalta not long after the Velvet Revolution when it was pretty much a post-communist dump. When searching for hotels I was pleased to read about the renovation and decided that we'd stay there for our two-night stay, partly out of nostalgia. I'm so glad we did. This hotel is the perfect base from which to explore Prague. It's literally within walking distance of every major attraction. And if you prefer not to walk, the Mustek metro station is at your disposal. Our room was well-appointed and very comfortable. The view of the square from the 4th floor was lovely; proper windows kept the room quiet. The bathroom was large and very clean. The buffet breakfast was very hearty with good variety of hot and cold, savory and sweet foods. Fun fact: There is a de-commissioned nuclear bunker beneath the hotel for communist VIPs; it was also used to spy on guests. Sign up for a tour during your visit as it is very interesting. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. The only thing I'd say was bothersome was the air conditioning. Even for May it was quite warm in the room and difficult to get it really cool with the afternoon sun shining in. Otherwise, I highly recommend the Jalta!
"All good, but..."
Stayed in Jalta at the beginning of May 2017. Hotel is located in the city centre, close to the Old Town and all the attractions. Note; it is 5 min walk to Prague's main railway station, which was good, considering I had a train to Budapest after 2 nights / 3 days stay. Concierge arrange the transfer from the airport - 28 euros, still not sure if its cheap or not for 35min drive. But its a meet & greet service, so guess its a good deal. Reception - helpful. It is a non smoking hotel, but got a room with a little balcony, without additional fee, so could sneak out for a ciggy every now and then. That actually proved to be an issue next morning - rooms with balconies are facing the back yard of the hotel, where a building was demolished... Well, I paid a price for my smoking habit - every 7:30am pneumatic hammers drilling & builders 'discussing' etc... Room - all amenities present, cant fault it, including La O'ccitane de Provence cosmetics, impressive. Now, the hotel restaurant. Only for this experience I would score it 6 out of 5. I'm a massive fan of pork in every form or shape, so tried room service and ordered pork knuckle. OMG. When I think about this meal today, its like thinking of paradise;) Never had anything so great, wonderful in my mouth. Marinated in dark beer and honey. Honestly, discovery of the decade for me. I would come back to Prague only to have it once again. So, thank you! Hope somebody from the hotel is reading this and will send the recipe. Hope my mum is not reading this, as my life could be in danger;) All in all, it is a 5* hotel. I had the bad luck of being there during the demolition in the back yard, and on the other hand, who would expect a culinary discovery on such an massive scale!
Stayed at the Jalta in Prague , the hotel has the best location in the city on the main Sq. Staff is nice and willing to help , the rooms are nice . The beds in the hotel are very comfortable. I would recommend anyone to go and stay at the Jalta.
