"The Object That Must Not Be Named"
We arrived at this hotel a little after check-in time. Our room - a "superior double"- was not ready at the time but cleaning was arranged swiftly. Reception personal chatted with us for a bit and 10 minutes later the room was ready for us. Or so it seemed. Some items missing in the bathroom, but no big deal. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the hotel thoroughly. Every single member of staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Beds fine. Location perfect. Even a mobile smartphone to take out in order to avoid roaming costs (will come in very handy after Brexit). Breakfast buffet enjoyable, spa very nice on a cold evening. So we were happy. However, on the morning we were leaving I routinely checked under the bed to see if there was nothing that had slipped underneath. Then I found, very close to the edge of the bed, The Object That - due to Tripadvisor's reviewing criteria - Must Not Be Named, but clearly bore witness to the previous guests having had some practical exercise and fun during their stay. (Perfectly in line with the Hotel Door Hanger that reads something like "don't come in, I'm having to much fun in here".) I've stayed in some gruesome places on other continents, but NEVER have I come across anything like this. The guy behind the reception was shocked when I mentioned this during check out, but there was of course nothing that could be done anymore apart from cleaning it away for the next party. What it meant of course, is that housekeeping had not only not checked or cleaned under the bed in between guests (there was other stuff there too), but had also not bothered with it during the whole of the time we were there. Due to this appalling bit of housekeeping our rating cannot be more than average. I'm sorry to say that whenever I think about this trip to London and our hotel, this is the image that has stuck in my mind. So: please: don't rush the cleaners! I would have been very happy to wait in the bar with a cup of coffee, on arrival. A tiny remark on the side. The hotel offers information on the rooms. The superior doubles are apparently equiped with "spectacular bathrooms" that are "fully stocked with luxurious products for you to enjoy" (photo). As for the first, the bathroom is perfectly all right but would only be called "spectacular" by someone who has to make do with a toilet in a wooden house in the back yard. As for the latter: I've added a photo. Mind: nothing wrong with bathroom or the tiny supplies, but it might be wise to rephrase the marketing bit here.
The room was very clean and tidy. Staff were all very friendly. Spa was amazing. Overall a good experience and an anniversary very well spent! Room had champagne and chocolate covered Strawberries on arrival and a little surprise for my partner. All very well organised.
Stayed here for 1 night in the embassy suite, not massively impressed for the price but clean and staff left roses around the room as it was our anniversary. Check in ok. All bathroom amenities were good, robe, slippers, toiletries etc. A nice welcome card and brownies on a plate was a lovely personal touch. Valet parking is £25 as no other parking. There is a nice hotel bar with lovely cocktails not cheap but okay. Didn’t try the gym as forgot trousers but looked nice, there is a few roads of shops nearby if you need anything. Breakfast was ok but not the best I’ve experienced for this hotel I expected better and more! Doesn’t look a typical hotel in the day either! Checking out took forever as there was a queue due to this being 11 o clock! Slept okay and room had a kettle but not sure I’d go back.
"Very nice hotel"
Great location near Shepards Bush Underground and the big shopping mall. Very nice room and friendly staff. The room we had was also very nice, and had a good sleep in the bed. Didn´t get a chance to try the spa, but that I will do next time :-)
The room was really lovely. The spa itself is fairly small but still nice. The food we had was average I personally wouldn't say it's worth the price. Unfortunately the staff tried to charge us at every corner and even sent through an invoice for something we never ordered. Information was communicated poorly too us as well - which is a shame as it dampened the whole experience.
