"High class Hotel"
We stayed at the Kempinski Corvinus for an extended weekend during the Advent season. Although the while city was extremly crowded and buzzing the hotel was a good hiding place with relaxed atmosphere. When we first entered the hotel it was almost dreamlike with this big, festive christmas tree in the lobby and a scent that reminds you of christmas being a child. We used almost all services and outlets at least once. And I have to say that almost everything was perfect and flawless. Great bar and cafe, roomservice was good, housekeeping did a good job, the concierge was very helpfull, the spa is very nice too (the couple treatment that we booked was a deeply relaxing experience), and the food was great, too. We just had one unpleasant experience at breakfast that we had to complain about. Yet the Lady in Red put it right immediately so we were fine when we received a great service the day after. All in all a true grand hotel (in) budapest.
We stayed at The Kempinski a few months ago and were very impressed. When we arrived our room was not ready but without prompting they sat us down in the beautiful cafe area with complimentary teas and coffees. Other hotels take note this is how to deal with this sort of thing - turn a negative into a good first impression. Our room was very nice - although we have stayed in more opulent- it was the attitude of the staff that we remember most- friendly, helpful and respectful especially the front desk. Some other 5 star hotels we have stayed in the staff seem to slightly look down on the guests as if only certain people should be allowed to stay in their hotel such as royalty or pop stars alas I am neither of these. I would wholeheartedly recommend staying in the Kempinski whilst in the beautiful city of Budapest ( this was my eight visit to the city but the first to this particular hotel) My only criticisms would be it would have been nice to have a dedicated jacuzzi in the pool area but in a city with so many spas maybe that is a little trite so the one area I think could have been improved was the breakfast pricing. It was over 20 euros each which seems really expensive even to try to find out if it warrants the price.Could I suggest if somebody stayed for a few nights they could have one free breakfast per person or for shorter stays maybe 2 for 1 for one morning to at least tempt them in to the breakfast room and if it is worth the money they would surely be back. I am trying to give five stars on every section for the ratings but these buttons are not currently working .
"New Year Break"
My wife and I stayed for 4 nights over new year, highly recommend this awesome hotel. The room was well presented with all amenities you could want it was extremley clean and looked after. All the staff we encountered were beyond professional and helpful in every way. we ate at the restuarants on site and these were excellent and the spa although not the biggest was well presented and staff really great. Well managed, positioned and comfortable hotel.
"I hated to leave!"
This hotel was recommend by our travel agent who had booked our river cruise, and It was wonderful. We had a somewhat small-ish room, but it was very nice, beds turned down at evening with water, and a nice city view. The breakfast we had each morning was about the best I have had anywhere , lots of choices and excellent coffee. The location is excellent and the there are lots of places nearby to eat and shop I hope I can return as this is now my new favorite european city and hotel.
Our family came for new year events. The hotel is located at a perfect location - not far away from downtown and it is quiet. Hotel staffs are really helpful from sightseeing suggestions to making arrangement. Room is fantastic, food is excellent, gym and sauna are excellent. We will certainly come back again.
