The facilities and room are clean and tidy with spacious setting. The staff are helpful, especially Ms Ronnie Hon is working efficiently and is passionated in providing assistance. I can feel the hospitality during the stay in this hotel and I am more than satisfied!
Excellent, clean , mado in the restaurant was so kind ,it got also great location near metro & bus stations in the center of the town break fast was good but not plenty of kinds there was no good view in my room but I like this hotel & I intend to come back
Wan Chai is a great area, being so close to the heart of the action. This is a great value hotel in a very expensive city, and super close to the trams and train. But my fave thing...the free mobile phone that we could take everywhere and hot spot to our own phones. Genius...love love love!! This is not five star luxury, but a nice gem for the price.
"Fine hotel in excellent location"
This is a fine hotel in an excellent location. I'm giving it a 4 because of the location and the friendly staff. However if i could i might give it only 3,5. The reason for not giving it better is as follows. while the location is a 5 and the staff is 4,5, the rest (hotel itself) is only a 3. The room i got had lots of wear and tear. The carpet had clear signs of being old, the bed was hard and the bathroom looked almost dirty because of all the wear and tear. In short the rooms (at least the one i got) needed a renovation. The air condition was very noisy even on low and it was impossible to sleep with it on. Turning it off meant a warm room so the choices was noise or heat. Also the outside traffic could be heard rather well. I was in the smallest room and the room layout was good. I had no problem opening my luggage on the floor and could still move around easily. The hotel also provide a smart phone with free wifi on it. useful for tourists. The breakfast was very limited. For a continental breakfast it only had the basics. A few sorts of bread, a few sort of cold cuts, a few choices of cereal. The only eggs they had was over boiled eggs. No bacon or sausages or anything else you usually get from a continental breakfast. For the price you pay, this is not a good value. You're better off going to the nearest coffee chop where you'll get the same food for half the price. Only real positive with the breakfast was that you could always get a seat and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I give the staff 4 because they are super friendly and professional. Especially the staff working with the breakfast. However the hotel did not give us the included shuttle bus ticket to the airport. Because we in the end opted for a taxi we didnt bother to make an argument over it but still. When the reservation says that shuttle bus is included they should not claim its not. The location is excellent and well worth 5. Its 5 minutes from the MTR, Got a bus stop 2 mins away and the tram is 3 mins away. The area also got plenty of both shopping and restaurant options.
"The hotel will try and steal from you."
First I'll say that I've stayed in hotels in nearly 80 countries. Hotels are like the countries themselves: each city has its own "feeling" of hotels. Hong Kong is known for small accommodations. Dohar is known for its extravagance etc etc. Obviously I had an idea of what I was getting myself into but based on the reviews I hoped for the best. Couldn't have bene more wrong. We'll start with the dishonest check in procedures. I am staying for over 50 nights. As a result, I specifically asked to see the room prior to checking in. They took me to a "small" room that was perfect. Large wardrobe. Comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. I asked 3 times if this was the room I would get and they said yes. They had much larger rooms and I was not interested in seeing them as I knew my reservation was for a standard room. I finally agree and hand over my credit card. She begins to check me into the room I was shown and her colleague (Unaware that I'm fluent in Cantonese) angrily tells the woman checking me in that that room is not for me because I'm in a long stay and am "cheap" and to put me on the room they cannot sell to anyone else. I accepted the room key and went to the room wondering what they were trying to pull. There is NO WARDROBE. For 50+ nights theres literally no place to put my clothes. Additionally, their website advertised complimentary mini bar for long stay guests - instead there is a refrigerator that doesn't work. Additionally, the bathroom has cracked tiles with mold and mildew growing between. The bed is large and comfortable and thats the only benefit. The AC barely works and theres an air purifier that only barely removes the smell. It gets worse. The hotel is undergoing some sort of construction. The lifts don't work. The smell of turpintine is so severe in the lobby and on the floor that my room is in that I was instantly nauseous within less than 30 mins. There is constant jack hammering so loud that you cannot hear yourself think during breakfast or trying to use the computer in the lobby. I've asked multiple times about this and the solution' SIR YOU NEED TO SPEND MORE MONEY! The $37,000 that I spent is apparently insufficient to these thieves. They are hoping that I'll be so upset that I'll pay more to "upgrade" to the room they originally promised. The final straw for me is a chose to stay somewhere else for a few days. They called and called and called demanding I tell them when I'll return to the hotel. They claim they are worried about my safety. In reality - they are shocked that I haven't accepted their uncharge. They locked me out of my room in an attempt to get my Credit Card details again even though I've already paid for the entire stay in advance. Their deceptive tactics are so severe that they are trying to steal my credit card details. All the while speaking about me in Cantonese assuming I cannot understand the horrible things they are saying. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF.
