"Lost in Translation"
It was our second time to stay as a family at The Kowloon Hotel due to its perfect location at the corner of Nathan Road. Checking in was efficient with the helpful staff accommodating all our requests. A coupon "HK$200 cash discount upon spending HK$500 or above at The Window Cafe or Loong Yat Heen" was provided upon check-in which we decided to use the following day for lunch as there was a typhoon signal 8 that day. The buffet lunch was HK$300+ per person, and since we were a family of 4, the receptionist suggested we return for dinner as the buffet would be at HK$200+ per person. We had a delicious Chinese lunch at a hole-in-the-wall filled with Chinese patrons found in the next block for a total bill of HK$360 for 4 persons! Returning to the Kowloon Hotel outlet for dinner to avail ourselves of the complimentary coupon, the receptionist (different from the earlier one) informed us that the buffet was at HK$500+per head! We ended up eating at our favorite Mall Cafe at the YMCA on Salisbury to our hearts' content.
"Good location, but srvice is bad"
The hotel is located in the heart of Kowloon district of Hong Kong. You would get to all the fency places by walk easily. Rooms are very small, though they call them Superior room. Ceiling is very low, so I would not reccommend this place to people who feel uncomfortable in small rooms. You should get the adaptor fro electric socket, as all the sockets are Hong Kong standard. Ask for it at the receprion, they would not offer until you ask. Hotel personnel is not very attentive and unfriendly, You would not feel they care about you. Probably they just belive the location could cover all the other problems. WiFi is disaster. My Outlook could not download new mails, though it worked on mobile phone. Forget about free Viber talks, as the speed is very low.
"Small rooms but convenient location"
I stayed here for about a week - half the time for work and half the time for leisure. The rooms at The Kowloon Hotel are extremely small - after placing my suitcase, I barely had any space to walk around. What I did appreciate was that the rooms were clean and comfortable to sleep in. The room also came with a bath tub which was nice for a Hong Kong hotel as most hotels in Hong Kong do not come with a tub - just shower. Check-in was smooth and fuss-free. The location of the hotel was ideal - just located above Tsim Sha Tsui MTR. It is within walking distances to many tourist locations such as Harbour City (a huge mall with everything in there from shopping to dining), the ferry pier etc. There are lots of shops around this area and food choices too till late at night.
"Next to MTR price reasonable"
Location very good, near the harbour front, on top of MTR station, you can go everywhere easily and quickly. Strongly recommend you to pay a bit more for a club room, the club lounge is really good, free breakfast, afternoon tea and sunset cocktail and the lounge though quite small, but is very comfortable. Club floor's staff is helpful and offer good service. One thing to note, hotel has no gym and swimming pool.
"5 day stay at Kowloon Hotel, Sept-Oct 2017"
Perfect location. So close to the Underground Train and therefore so close to EVERYWHERE in Hong Kong. I love a soft bed so they added a topper to my bed (made it perfect). Management were super obliging with any of our requests. Would definitely stay there again.
