"Average hotel "
Stayed here for 3 nights and found this hotel to be average. The cleaning standards were below average, with the rooms not clean on arrival. Daily cleans were mere spot cleans, without floors or basins being done. Concierge service was also average, with staff not following up on requests nor communicating with each other. Our request to pick up our Vienna pass had to be explained and the same questions answered 3 times with no resolution. Staff seemed uncertain of local service hours etc. Our room (a suite) was big enough but very unusual layout. Each night I felt like I showered in the middle of the lounge room. It looked like a bathroom had been installed in what was previously a large room. There was very little room in the bathroom to store toiletries, making bathing very squashed. In the middle of the room was a tv which was on a pole. It turned around either to the bedroom or to the sitting area where there were table and chairs. This area would have been better with lounge furniture. There was also a second toilet inside the entrance door which looked and felt like stepping into a cupboard. Positives about this hotel: The bed was large and comfortable, with good pillows and doona. Also the items in the mini bar were free, which I’ve never seen in other hotels. Overall, the room had a very confusing layout. There was also a huge waft of cigarette smoke through the lift and reception area. Definitely not my cup of tea. We won’t be back.

This hotel is in a really great location and the front line staff are excellent (especially concierge Manuel, who found our tickets to the symphony). Bar food was good. Be aware that it is undergoing refurbishment...there is nothing on the website and we were not informed when we booked (6 months prior to our Jan 2018 stay). No warning email, either. The lobby area and bar are redone, looks great, all good except for the smoking bar, which is right near one set of elevators, so smoke wafts up up up. It’s horrible for us non smokers. Our room, an executive suite, was renovated and huge. But...Does anyone who designs hotel rooms actually stay in them' The furniture seems too small for the space, sofa and chair are not very comfortable and the lighting is appalling. The sitting room and bedroom are both very dark and the wardrobe is in the sitting room, not the bedroom. Bathroom lighting awful for make up, but this is a complaint I have in most hotels. If I’d realised it was an “art” hotel I would probably not have booked. But back to the renovations. Upon check-in on a Sunday for our 6 night stay, we were told the renovation for the floor above us was starting but for the first week they were only moving furniture. Ok, fine. At 4pm the next day the drilling started. Jackhammers above our heads. My husband was at the front desk with questions quick smart. First they said they would have informed us on the booking. Well, actually no, here is the confirmation email which says nothing. Then they said it was on the website. Well, no, that’s easy to check! My husband is not a shouter - he clearly stated the issue and asked that we be moved, that it was their problem to solve. After a bit of back and forth with the duty manager, everyone being extremely polite and obviously wanting to fix this, they moved us (and our adult daughter who has a separate smaller room) to a larger suite on the other side of the building. We could vaguely hear the drilling ( which went on til 5pm) but it was certainly tolerable. Upshot : if you don’t mind the style over substance issues, check about the renovations before you book. Location is excellent.
"Organized conference for my company"
We hosted a 2 day client event for my Company here. Le Meridien was far and above the three finalist we looked at. Great location, spacious rooms, friendly staff, tasty food, great price. Our clients complemented us on a great choice from many options around the city, even those who stayed off site wished they booked here. Great experience had by many!
The hotel is well located, walking-distance to differnt dining options around, very nice area, you can walk around, safe surroundings. Service was fine and the overall experience was good very expected from a Le Meridien. The room we stayed at was very modern, updated and comfy.
