"Adequate accommodation, not 4*, close to tram but very very noisy"
Zurich is expensive so, to us, this hotel in the university district was affordable and within walking distance of the city with excellent tram connections. Unfortunately the 4* rating is very misleading and we should have read more traveller reviews so that we knew to book a room at the back of the hotel (or pay more for one) in order to get away from the noise. We've tried to be balanced in reviewing the pros and cons but we would not stay here again. A decent night's sleep whilst on holiday is the main priority and that just wasn't possible. Pros: - Tram stop right outside for easy access to airport and to city centre, also walkable to centre - Can't fault room cleanliness - Comfy beds - Kettle in room with tea/coffee - Wifi - CoOp next door for food shopping if needed Cons: - Rooms are very warm but no aircon means you have to sleep with the windows open. However it is VERY VERY noisy; the traffic on the main road is incredibly loud and makes sleeping impossible - No fan provided in our room - Shower cubicle in the bathroom is very small with little room to move - Limited storage space for clothes and belongings - Noise from guests in the room above us late at night/in early hours - sounded like they were in high heels walking on the wooden floor which just added to the already noisy conditions
"Comfortable boutique hotel with a great location"
At the conclusion of a Rhine River Cruise my wife and I spent three September nights at the Leonardo Rigihof in Zurich. Everything about our stay was great. Comfortable room with a sitting area and a very comfortable bed. The hotel's location is also very convenient to tram service into the city centre or to the airport directly, which is itself a fantastic feature of the hotel's location. I have stayed at the Rigihof multiple times and highly recommend it for an affordable option in Zurich.
"Cramped, lack of facilities and Heater spoiled."
As the name implies, it is a hotel with no gym, not much facilities. Perhaps it was my luck, i was assigned to a room with a faulty heater, told the staff, and they tried to repair, but told me will take days. In short, take the room or leave it...
This Hotel is budget accommodation with Mayfair prices. Rooms nothing to write home about, almost cell like. Breakfast basic and I would not recommend. Also 50 feet from a church that has a bell that rings every 15mins through the night and god only knows how many times at 07:00.
"Basic hotel in nice location"
This hotel is near to most things in Zurich and only a short tram ride from the station. The breakfast is plentiful in a nice big room - a good way to start the day. The rooms are smallish, which is typical of Zurich, but clean and functional.
