Great location in West London close to theatre district & transportation anywhere in the city. An elegant boutique type hotel with superb service . A very nice breakfast each day & a cozy bar area for cocktails & an afternoon area by the fireplace . A wonderful stay! Thank you Abdul our concierge !
"Good Hotel in an Interesting Location"
The hotel was clean and updated, in good condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a room on the street and heard street noise much of the night. A pub was directly across the street. The patrons stood and drank outside during the night. I realize that the hotel can do nothing about this, but it took away from the experience. The location was away from much of what tourists want to see.
"Great overnight stay"
Stayed here for 1 night as a birthday treat from the boyfriend! Wished we could have stayed longer! Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was lovely, clean and bed was sooo comfortable! Ordered room service quite late as my man is always hungry and they brought it up quickly and was delicious. We had breakfast included which was buffet style, this was delicious and set us up for the day. All in all a great hotel and would definitely return
"Never made it to hotel due to flight cancellation and still got charged"
I was supposed to stay at the Rathbone, however, my flight got cancelled and I could not make it. I called when I was at the airport to see if there was anything they could do to help my situation, but there was no one there to speak with me and was told to email the reservations desk. I emailed the reservations desk explaining that my flight had gotten cancelled, (which I received a response very quickly so there must have been someone there), they said that they cannot do anything due to the 24 hour cancellation policy - I booked the hotel less than 24 hours - but they would still would not help in any way even though it was out of my hands. I understand cancellations policies and they companies must have they but when the hotel is going to turn around and probably rebook the room and still make money off of someone that is unable to make it due to plane issues, it seems ridiculous to me that they make no exceptions and seemed rude on top of it. Definitely would not recommend if you have any chance of not making it to your reservation.
I booked The Rathbone direct for an anniversary trip based on its location and reviews - it was a great choice. Reception couldn't have been friendlier or more efficient. When we got to our room we found that we had an upgrade and a rose petal welcome. That was followed by a smiling waiter bringing us some sparkle and chocolate covered strawberries. Attention to detail throughout the hotel is its hallmark and shows the advantage of personal property ownership. In the room everything was fresh, clean, White Company toiletries in abundance, electric sockets, easily adjusted climate control, lovely mattress and pillows, easily controlled powerful shower, huge towels, fluffy robes, excellent hotel/activities guide and proper magazines. The breakfast room is beautifully decorated and has a relaxing feel. The continental buffet offers a wide choice and is of very high quality - bright berries, gooey Brie etc. But the great point is that hot items are freshly made for you and served by a delightful waitress. Lovely coffee, a pot of hot tea, proper brown toast and a cooked to order English breakfast that is such a relief from the standard tramp backwards and forwards to a row of domes covering tired food. Overall the feeling of being looked after by staff who take pride in their jobs and the hotel is wonderful and made the base point of our short trip delightful. Other excellent family owned places we used within walking distance: Mac & Wild restaurant; Le Bistro Savoire Faire restaurant; Flat Iron; Gelupo ice cream. Plus the wonderful Upstairs@Ronnie Scotts and Criterion Theatre.
