Stayed here with my Mother in February 2017. Was immediately impressed with the cleanliness and helpful greeting from the staff. We checked-in early knowing that our room wouldn't be ready and the staff were very friendly and accommodating in storing our luggage. Each room has a doorbell and your room key is plugged into an outlet on the wall to power the lights in the room (nifty!). Our room had two single beds, each dressed independently, but pushed together. We each had a beautiful red velvet headboard. Our room contained bottled water, a kettle with coffee and tea supplies, a writing desk with stationary, a television, and a beautiful full bathroom with large tub, shower, sink, and lots of counter space. The hotel was very quiet and the elevator (although slow) was very welcome after long days of walking. We didn't have breakfast there, although it was offered at an additional cost. Same with wifi. The lobby bar looked very nice, although small and dark. We didn't have a drink there, but did pop across the road to the Duke of York pub on occasion (quite a popular pub in the evenings, but never too loud for the hotel). The location of this hotel is wonderful. Walking distance to Oxford Street for shopping or Regents park. There are some terrific, popular pubs and restaurants in the area. The staff of this hotel were always very warm and helpful. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel.
"Great location, feels safe and friendly"
+ International staff friendly. Comfy bed. Clean. Continental breakfast very tasty (yogurt, fruit, granola, fresh breads, cheese, tea and toast). Fantastic location for eating out, pub crawls, admiring architecture, visiting The British Museum... I was with spouse, but would feel safe staying here alone. Lobby is attractive. Room rates seem reasonable for London. I would recommend and stay here again. - Noise from street is loud. Stayed in room 312. Faces glass recycling bin - very loud sound of breaking glass. I ran room fan, borrowed an extra fan for white noise, and put in earplugs, and then I could sleep. Expensive wi-fi (22 GBP for two days). Step-up tub shower felt a little dangerous to use; be sure provided matt is stuck down before you step on it!
"Another great stay!"
Have stayed here about 10 times over the last few years. Excellent location, lovely friendly staff, prices have gone up a fair bit but the location seals the deal every time. We will definitely be back!
Hotel is right around the corner from Oxford street. Nice clean place. Comfortable. Friendly staff. Only downside is that the rooms are small. Wifi is not free for guests, but costs Gbp 6 per hour, which I think is a bit excessive.
"Handy for the West-End but very Noisey and over-priced."
I stayed here for a night last week, at short notice. The room was a decent size and clean but a little dated. The bed was comfortable enough, however the noise form the street was very loud, even with the poorly fitting double glazed windows closed. For an hotel of this size I was very surprised to be told that the restaurant was closed and my only option was bar food or eat outside. As I didn't much feel like eating out, I tired the bar food. Save for sandwiches and pizza there were three main courses on the menu and one of these was not available. The staff were friendly enough but I was not impressed by the overall package. There are far better hotels available for less money.
