"The staff make this hotel a wonderful place to stay"
Having arrived in Los Angeles on my own at the weekend (20th May), I must admit that having been to numerous hotels in America, I have not encountered such friendly, welcoming and charming members of the staff. Most seem to have been here for a number of years but from the girls working at reception, all the way through to the valets Joshua and Ricardo who are happy to help in any way they can, have all made my stay a thoroughly enjoyable one.
Top Notch. You would think being the only hotel on Rodeo Drive, this would only add to the already "snooty attitude" of Beverly Hills. NOT SO. Not only we're all staff members extremely nice and helpful...they were also very accommodating....with no BH attitude. We were traveling with our two teenage kids. They didn't charge us the club fee for our two kids and they also gave us complimentary upgrade to the Rodeo Drive view. Room was older but in a good way. Very clean. Excellent experience overall.
"Gem in Beverly Hills"
Was part of a group tour travelling California and I stayed 4 nights. Totally awesome. The hotel was very stylish with very clean and spacious rooms. Each room was provided with it's own personalized tablet so you were instantly connected to the hotel Wi-Fi. Staff were friendly and the location was perfect. Hotel is surrounded by top end branded shops and within walking distance from restaurants. Would love to stay here again on my next visit.
"Hotel for the Millennials"
The Luxe, while well located on Rode Drive, is not for the Baby-Boomer generation. The faux modern decor with outdated lamps (some of which well not well hung) and other design features did not appeal to me in the least. The breakfast area was poorly arranged with people constantly running into each trying to get food and coffee from one machine. The Bar area seating, which was needed at breakfast, was obliterated by the food stations, etc. The bathroom was not well planned with one pedestal sink and a very narrow ledge to hold any personal toiletries. Only LeBron James could possibly reach the toilet paper roll when needed. Oh, the shower curtain rack was improperly installed so the curtain kept creeping open on both sides. I could go on and one, but to say the least, it was not my cup of tea. Finally, one thing that should be corrected immediately; it is a violation of any basic hotel marking course: to check in, do not make your guests sit in lounge chairs facing the back of huge black computer screen trying to talk to person on the other side who is also sitting in a lounge chair. Bizarre!
A great hotel in a perfect location for getting around Beverly Hills and Walking distance to all the main restaurants and shops. Staff are friendly and we're fantastic with our 4 year old daughter making sure she was looked after before the adults. The Luxe package is compulsory but was included in our room rate. This consists of breakfast and evening drinks and nibbles. The only critic would be that the dining area is small and the breakfast choices are limited, otherwise a great place to stay. Only 86 rooms makes this a great boutique hotel.
