"Tennis for Life"
Most people would choose a hotel based on service and comfort but I chose the Mandarin Oriental KL for its Tennis For Life package as this trip was a birthday surprise for my husband who is an avid tennis player! From the moment we stepped into the hotel till the moment we left for the airport, the professionalism,friendliness, warmth and kindness far exceeded all the other hotels that we have stayed in around the world. Theresa, Spa and Wellness manager and Chip, Tennis Director greeted us when we checked in which was a really lovely personal touch. We were presented with a suggested itinerary for our 3 day stay with the the scheduled dates and time which I had prearrange of the 2 Tennis sessions and 1 Tennis fitness and movement session in the gym which were all part of the tennis for life package. On top of that we also joined the men and ladies group coaching sessions that were offered which is a definite plus in choosing MO. Chip who is a professional and certified Peter Burwash International coach is fantastic, encouraging and very patient. He spotted what we needed to work on and he actually got me to hit with top spin after one session! My husband said the coaching exceeded his expectations and this was the best birthday present ever! I have to add that I love that we were entitled to a 4 piece daily complimentary laundry for our tennis attire included as part of the tennis package as well. Albert the manager of Mosaic with his phenomenal memory addressed us by our names every morning when we went for breakfast. He even remembered the conversation we had the previous day about how I would love to return to MO with our children. Mustn’t forget to mention that the breakfast selection was fantastic and caters for many different taste for adults and children too! The concierge manager who arranged for the taxi to the airport kindly extended our checkout without me having to ask if it was possible. My husband was totally chuffed and surprised by the birthday cake and song from Kelly and Chooi Mei. Housekeeping was meticulous and efficient and love the chocolates on the bed. Betty and Cecilia did a great job massaging our tired body after a great day of tennis coaching. Yuen at the Spa was very helpful with suggesting the timing. The boys calling the taxis for us were also very helpful. Thank you to the many wonderful people at MO that made this birthday surprise a truly special experience for us.
Mandarin Oriental excellent hotel,all the services are superb.wonderful staff very helpful in every way especially the mosaic restauraunt staff in particular Madi and Abrahim wonderful service.The breakfast and evening buffets plenty of choices.The fitness / pool is excellent,cant fault this hotel would most defiantly return great location.
"Charming and beautiful"
A first class hotel in true sense, very well maintained despite being two decades old. Highly well trained , experienced staffs at hand to assist. Food & beverage outlets world class indeed. High profile guests seen using the property including the Selangor King. Whats more a property could wish for ... The sky is no limit.
"luxurious and very hospitable"
It was a great pleasure for my wife and myself to stay at Hotel Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur from 9th till 15th October 2017 in room no. 2618, where we enjoyed every moment during our stay. We appreciate the warm hospitality extended to us by all members at the Hotel. We being vegetarians, they took special efforts to provide us the vegetarian food on our request. We wish them all the best. Though the list of names of the members is long, to name few, I would like to thank specially Mr. Ahmad Mahathir-Assistant Club Floor Manager & his team –Mr. Razman, Kamal, Nizam, Mimie (Minu) and Matsela Noora and other staff members in the lounge, who made our stay memorable. We also have few more members of your hotel Mr. Albert Soriano-Assitant Restaurant Manager Mosaic, Mr. Suresh and his team members-Baizura, Fee, Suhaida, Bob, Khai, Mahendren, Eila, who took great care during our breakfast time. "Top quality food, mediocre service"
When we stayed at the Mandarin two years ago, we finished off our visit with a trip to the Grill restaurant. This time we stayed at the Renaissance but still completed out holiday with a spectacular meal at the Grill again. The hotel is special, and one reason why we will keep coming back. Next time, we may stay closer to KL Sentral. However, we will be back for the food. The menu is easy to read, with a good selection of dishes for every taste. All prepared and cooked to the highest quality. Our friends live in KL, and as locals they always ensure the waiter's know what is expected. This time the use of teainee and inexperienced people showed through. Not enough to detract from the food, but enough to need to explain our orders several times. This was the same for pre-dinner drinks and even trying to arrange a taxi at the end of the evening. But don't let that stop you as the food really is that good it is easy to forgive these mistakes.
