"Beautiful, but I wouldn’t stay here"
Building is iconic and the rooms nice, but the hotel is incredibly expensive and fails to deliver on some the basics. Internet is TERRIBLE - you constantly need to login again. And one of the 2 keys I was given at check in never worked and the other one failed during my visit. Colleagues had similar experienced. Unfortunate.
The service was just great, wonderful staff. very reliable butler service. Good choices food choices during breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails at Club55. plus the scenic view of Singapore from everywhere (suite, Club55, Skypark, Infinity Pool).
"Bucket list place to stay"
Choose to stay here if you want to experience pure luxury, fun and to tick an iconic building off your bucket list. We chose to stay here while traveling from Europe to New Zealand. We got off a long flight and were exhausted. From the moment our taxi pulled up at the door we were treated like royalty. Everything was simple, efficient and felt very personable for such a mega-industry. Our receptionist upgraded our room to a suite which was spectacular. I loved our time there and would stay again. The best parts: The building itself is spectacular. The rooftop pool is amazing and not as scary as anticipated. Great for photos! The suite has beautiful spacious rooms and many amenities. The staff were all very courteous. The hotel is also adjacent to a lovely mall with many shops and restaurants as well as a train station. The not so good parts: It truly is massive so there is often a wait for the elevators. Remember that every person needs their own room card for access to the pool etc. not one per group! The location is beautiful and I imagine every single room has a great view but it isn’t right on orchard ave so if you want to get amongst downtown Singapore it is a short Taxi ride away. Overall: I would definitely return even if just for the amazingly spacious suite. It felt a real treat being there!
An iconic hotel with epic form with plenty of glass to public areas. Lofty majestic spaces, good sized rooms with great views of the harbour. Adjacent is the convention centre and a shopping mall boasting an almost endless array of shops with overpriced materialistic purchases. The hotel has three towers with a common central atrium at ground level which can be accessed from the street at either end. The Internal atrium provides direct access to the marina bay sands shopping complex and gardens (lift is outside on the shopping mall side). Hi speed lifts to clean and spacious rooms. Bed was near the harder end of the scale, pillows soft, air con a little noisy, sliding glass doors to a small balcony, great views mine being harbour facing looking over the gardens. The Infinity pool on level 57 is popular, lounges three rows deep viewing a 1.2m deep pool to the edge of the building. Zone out the crowd, take a dip, grab a drink and enjoy one of the most opulent escapes in one of the most impossibly beautiful cities in the world. Level 57 also has bars, spas and restaurants. Don't miss the evening light show in the harbour. Of the various ways to access the hotel, I chose the MRT (train) from Changi airport involving two train changes, relatively easy, but avoid travelling peak hour as it may be hard managing luggage with full trains. You can buy a ticket using vending machines at any station. Bayfront station is right under the MBS hotel. Changi to MBS hotel is currently $2.40 and around 30mins.
"A dream come true"
I was so happy with my experience and would really recommend this hotel to everyone!! I have stayed in a few five stars hotels and never have I ever experienced the service that I got at marina bay. It was superb from start to finish. I am currently travelling the world with my boyfriend so you could imagine how we rocked up to check in, casual wear and big rucksacks! I thought we'd be a little out of our depth and frowned upon but we had the opposite! The hotel was so welcoming and a gentlemen immediately come up to us to take our bags whilst we checked in. As you can imagine Singapore can get very hot, whilst we were waiting in a short queue we were offered drinks and complimentary ice-creams which was a lovely surprise. We checked in nice and easy and the lady that checked us in was absolutely lovely, she spoke to us about our stay in Singapore and took a real interest in us. She even managed to give us an early check in which was fantastic, even if she couldn't we were still told we could use the facilities which would have been fine. Our rooms were a delight and spacious, the city view was spectacular and even the cleaner on our floor was lovely. The amenities in our room were spot on and came in handy. We then spent the day at the pool which was very nice aswell, the view is amazing! We also ordered cocktails at the pool and were paying by cash I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't rush us for the money and the price was good as well and cheaper that some bars I've seen, I was expecting it to be more expensive. We then later had dinner in the hotels restaurant rise I believe which we really enjoyed. The service was really good, the food was either main menu or a buffet which the lady said we could have a look at before we chose which was really good as I can be a bit picky! The food was well presented and plenty of choice. This was reasonably priced as well, we were even told to get a free membership card to get a little money off which they said we could sort out at the end, so again we wasn't rushed with paying. We then headed back to the room to complete silence! Best sleep ever! It was an unforgettable trip and I would to thank all of the staff for treating us so well. We will be returning!! The local attractions were also fabulous (we did all of them) The price of the stay was well worth it and I'm so glad we did it. I reccomend to all Families, couples and travellers to stay here.
