I am not a timeshare owner. We chose this property due to its price, amenities and proximity to the Convention Center. We stayed in villa 5042 which is an upstairs 2-bedroom(s) corner suite. Thanks to Mr. Mix('), our business trip check-in and check-out was excellent. We opted for points in lieu of daily maid service. Everything was neat and clean. Before meetings, the exercise room suited our fitness needs. The grounds were similar to a nature habitat with a few lizards and exotic plants. After meetings, we enjoyed the pools and gas grills. We shopped for items at WALMART and WHOLE FOODS on Turkey Lake which is a five minute(s) drive away. Our clients treated us to meals at FOGO de CHAO and CAPITAL GRILLE. To our surprise, Cypress Harbour is across the street from the MARRIOTT Harbour Lake property. Certainly, there are some negative issues such as the property's on-site convenience market unreasonable prices and the "dummy proof" timer on the gas grills. But overall, this place was worth the visit.
Jeeb checked us in and she was a GREAT first impression, but then she directed us the the Marriott Vacation Club desk. This was almost comical. At first, they reacted like we, MEMBER OWNERS, were there to accost them. Then they started chirping like the seagulls in Finding Nemo. "Park tickets, you need park tickets'" Talking over each other, it was flat out weird, like they couldn't figure out which representative was going to help us. We explained that Jeeb had suggested we check in with them. One of them found our sales appointment and confirmed or Sunday 8 a.m. (Read on for more on that). They then gave us our "free gift" (redundant) for being a member. We reveived a little pen style hand sanitizer...one. I guess we will have to share. This was insulting really. I can pick one of these up at CVS for 89 cents. Our accomodations were outstanding fortunately and that made it easy to laugh about the hand sanitizer. Our servers, Rick and Matt, at the Pavilion Pool Bar did a great job. Simply by observation, Rick showed an interest in knowing his customers as "golfers" as noted on the check and provided just the right amount of personalized service our entire stay. The food at the Pavilion was surprisingly good and the servers were great at suggestions. Have the Mahi and the Black and Bleu burger. While poolside I enjoyed nice, clean water at a perfect temperature and good choices from a bubbbly area, to an area 6 feet deep. My wife and I played a couple of the games put on by staff. Fun, except the resort music made it hard to hear the game hosts. TURN DOWN THE MUSIC during games. Another thing I was looking forward to was using the sizable pitch and putt area. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! It is NOT well-maintained. The bunkers are a disgrace; the greens are covered with molds and some black fungus or mildew. As you can see in the the photos there is moss in the bunkers which I slipped on and scraped my knee. Many of the cups are so full of debris the flagstick can't be put it (It's like that at the mini golf too, but that's better maintained overall). Also, the main drain was so clogged, there was a high water ring around it. We were so disappointed by this amenity we went in to get a business card for the General Manager. They accommodated us, but didn't ask "why'" Odd. Later that afternoon I noticed the B.O.D. had a plaque in the hallway. I wanted to jot their names down so I approached the main desk. It was busy, so I went over to the Vacation Club desk and asked to borrow a pen saying, "I'll bring it right back." Well, once again the strangest of strange. There were 5 associates all acting like I had asked for the keys to the kingdom. No one seemed to have a pen, then one guy asks a woman on the other end of the desk to give me "one of those plastic pens." She, "These, you want me to give him one of these'" Me, "I'll bring it right back." Different guy, "Yes, one of those." She reluctantly hands it to me as I draw 5 strange stares. The pen is from "iRide" a transportation company' I'm guessing they are free promo items. I will ABSOLUTELY NOT go to this comedic nightmare "Marriott Vacation Club Member Services" desk ever again. As an OWNER I wish I could replace them all with those seagulls. The comedic aspect would be more understandable. Well anyway, we arrived at our 8 a.m. sales presentation on Sunday. After having confirmed several times, they had us scheduled for the next day. The Marketing Director begins to insist it's our mistake-like I'd get out of bed at 0730 on Father's Day to attend a sales presentation - and starts referring to her "notes" as if they're the Bible and talking "charge back" while insisting she's trying to accommodate us. Fortunately she found this gentleman Jason Wright who was the ideal accommodation. Great demeanor. He basically saved the day with his professionalism.
"Orlando Florida June 2017 - Fancy stay"
Wow! word could not do justice in explaining how beautiful this villa was. We stayed for 7 nights in June 2017. We had a second floor two bedroom villa, at Lakeside. Its clean and people are friendly. We had the island pool and spa right next door to us which was opened till 11pm daily. They have three restaurants onsite which was a little pricey but good food. The villas come with dishwashers, washing machines and dryers which meant no work for me while on vacation. I just wish we had more time to enjoy the Villa. Cant wait to return soon.
"Wonderful Stay at Marriott"
Excellent service and very well maintained. I will definitely return and recommend this place. Daily activities are very entertaining. Facilities are in excellent conditions and location is very accesible. It is 3 minutes from Sea World.
"Best Orlando stay ever!"
We just got back from our stay at the Marriott Cypress Harbour. I'll start off by telling you we are a family of three (our son is 7) and we have two other timeshares and tend to stay at a Marriott and Hiltons when traveling. We received an email about one week prior to our arrival asking if we had any preferences. I replied and followed up with a call a couple of days before arriving. The staff was super polite and said they would do their best to accommodate our requests. We arrived on June 9th and were put in building 51 as the building that I requested (building 52) was nor remodeled yet nor were any rooms on the top floor available. We were in 5141 which was a corner unit on the 4th (top) floor. It was spacious, well equipped and the view was wonderful. We were even able to see the fireworks displays from our screened in deck at night. Because we were at the end, my son (who had the front bedroom) did not experience any noise from people passing by. The curtains were wonderful....complete blackout. I loved it as I have problems sleeping and they were perfect. There were plenty of pillows, extra linens and the front bedroom had a queen bed PLUS a full size sleeper sofa in it. When my parents came over, my son slept in that room with them on the sleeper bed. It was tight (no room to get between the beds to the closet) but it didn't affect nighttime sleep. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room so you don't have to squeeze in together if you don't want to. Both bedrooms had ceiling fans (none in the living room though 😕) and bathrooms right off them. There were three TV's in the room and a full size washer and dryer with detergent (no fabric softener). The kitchen had all you would want and nice cabinets and granite. The loveseat was super comfortable. The couch wasn't bad, but the fact that it was a sleeper made it much more firm. There was also a ceiling fan on the screened in balcony. We had plenty of dishwasher cleaner and even though you do not get daily cleanings, the maid service got us fresh towels no even called to make sure we got them and stopped by to see if we needed garbage bags, soap or anything else. They were very accommodating and polite. It was also a very clean unit. We felt right at home. My parents who have had timeshares for over 40 years also said it was one of the nicest ones that they have stayed in. We went to the activities center and my son loved the PS4 and other consoles that were there. We played ping pong and saw the pool tables. You can buy slushies over there too and they were really good. We took the free pontoon ride to and from the activity center and it was very pleasant. My mom just wanted to take it over and over and she is afraid of boats! My husband and son loved the reptile show and pool games. It was a wonderful experience and we will certainly stay here again. My only complaint was the beds, none of us felt they were comfortable. Hopefully, the GM will look into that. My back was killing me by the end of the week, but I still loved our stay. It was perfect in every other sense and we can be super picky.
