Arrived 15th June to be told theres a £50 deposit per room per night for service charge we had 2 rooms for 2 nights which was a cost of £200 per stay and that it was on "hold" in my account, one week later I am still waiting for the £200 to "unhold". Rooms are outdated, internet charged at 3.75 per hour in your room but free elsewhere, I have stopped in numerous hotels and never ever been charged to use internet in your room. 1 room had broken bathroom tiles and silicone was at least 3inches thick round doors and bath, air conditioning very very poor , one room it was very noisy, as it was warm weather we had no option but to leave windows opened and you was woken to traffic at 5am, which I know its not the hotels fault for traffic noise but if air conditioning was to proper standard we wouldnt need windows opened. Beds had a additional topper on which didnt fit mattress which made it very uncomfortable, and the pillows were very small, 3/4 size of a standard pillow. Cleaners was hoovering hallway outside room at 7.45am so a lie in is out of the question ( didnt effect me as I was awake from 6am due to poor nights sleep). Prices of bar was extortionate, I know hotel prices are expensive but £9 for a double vodka and a splash of coke is a joke, wasnt even Smirnoff or any other well known brand. Parking is £12 a day which is average for a city but you get a discount if stopping at hotel, which is a big whopping £1 discount per day lol. I have stopped in average 3/4 hotels per year for last 5 years and this has been the worse ever, at the cost of £110 per night per room I expected better, only good thing about this hotel was the staff and the breakfast, cant comment on the pool gym or spa as we never used them. NEVER AGAIN !
"Great Spa Day !"
Wedding anniversary treat - a spa day with treatments and Champagne ! A very enjoyable way to spend the day. The staff were incredibly helpful and very professional. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Went away with friends for weekend, the hotel was great , great staff, tidy room's and a great breakfast , and the best thing was it was not far from the railway station, and right in the town.would go again.😎
"Only 1 night but very good stay"
Check in: Quick and easy. Helpful and polite staff. Offered a room upgrade for free. Room: Spacious and clean. Air-conditioner working. Robes a nice touch. Leisure: Who needs an Olympic sized pool in an hotel. It was big enough to de-stress from the journey. Plenty of places to relax and a sauna and gym if you want it. Food: Only slight let down was the food choices on the bar menu. However Queens Square is just outside with plenty of variety. The egg-chef at Breakfast is a lovely touch. Summary: Very good accommodation and friendly staff. Would stay again.
"Great hotel. Great location. Great weekend!"
The hotel is clean and relaxed with good facilities and staff. The rooms are comfy and well arranged. There are plenty of areas to relax and if you bring swimwear you can enjoy a dip along with a sauna. Bring shorts too for a session in the gym....It is close to everything you need to have a great time. We will be back :-)
