"Enjoyed this hotel "
It is a very nice hotel in a nice neighborhood. We had a conference here and they did a nice job setting up. The hotel has bikes that are free. Nice touch. The only thing is the bikes are single speeds with back peddle breaking. That is difficult for me. I will return. Don't forget to see the ruins that look like pyramids.
Nice hotel, in a good area, close to an excellent mall. However it is located in the middle of two streets, plenty of vehicles that produce noise and the traffic is terrible. The food is delicious and the staff attends you very well
"Very expensive for what it is"
The Location is not that great, but we choose it because it is a Melia hotel but the standards are below compared to the Melias in Spain. Decoration is old school, rooms are ok but it could use a litlle renovation. Staff is friendly
"Making the best of an airport fiasco"
I stayed here for a few hours during the day, on an unexpected long layover in Lima after a missed flight connection. The airline gave me a voucher to get a few hours' sleep in the afternoon before my second consecutive red-eye. I was so tired that I barely noticed much about the hotel, but it was lovely -- clean, luxurious, nice rooms, all the amenities. I'd been given a voucher for dinner, and even though there were only two options in the restaurant -- both meat -- the chef was kind enough to make me a vegetarian dish upon request. The only downsides: After I checked in mid-afternoon, I only had about eight hours before I had to go back to the airport, so I was trying to get some sleep in the afternoon. I was woken up twice by hotel staff asking to see the minibar (which I hadn't touched -- I'd literally *just* checked in) and once by the reception desk phoning my room to ask me what time I'd like to be woken up. Considering I'd just fallen back asleep, it was frustrating to keep being interrupted that way. I understand it was the middle of the day, but even so -- it would be nice if the hotel staff would respect a "do not disturb" under the circumstances. Also, I got the distinct feeling that the staff lost interest in me as soon as they saw I had a hotel voucher rather than a regular booking. Someone had helped me take my bag in from the taxi, but they left me to carry it myself to the room. Plus, the hotel receptionist left me to go check in other (paying) guests before coming back to me, which, considering I'd been awake for 26 hours and was literally falling over on my feet, was a bit annoying. For people actually staying here on anything other than a hotel layover, I'd imagine the location would be less than ideal, too. It's not really near anything in the historical centre, Miraflores or Barranco. Its location in San Isidro is not very walkable to amenities, so I'm guessing you'd have to take a taxi to get anywhere. Not a big deal for me, since I wasn't going anywhere. But if I were back in Lima I doubt I'd book it because of that.
Staff is very friendly, welcoming & accommodating. Rooms are spacious & well appointed. Room charges are reasonable. The location is quite convenient for transportation to interesting places in Lima. Highly recommended.
