"Third stay at this hotel - never again!"
I decided to book Mina for a staycation weekend based on my previous two nice stays at the hotel. Unfortunately, this time my experience was very different. My friend and I booked a sea view room and on check in we were told by a rude Asian-looking check-in woman (the one in a white uniform, unfortunately I don't remember her name) that our room is "the best in the category" which could not be further away from the truth. There was not much of a view as the room was just above a restaurant and Burj al Arab was completely hidden from the view. We went back to the reception to ask for a better room. The guest relations manager insisted that all sea view rooms with Burj view were unavailable. He then gave us a room on the top floor and claimed it was an upgrade when it fact it was the same deluxe room just on the top floor and no roof on the balcony which made it unusable. What a lovely upgrade, isn't it' We had to go back to the reception again and speak to them for the third time because despite having asked the guest relations to show us several rooms to avoid going back and forth we were not shown any other rooms. They say third time is a charm so after showing a photo of the view I had during one of my previous stays they "managed to find" a room with an uninterrupted Burj view on the 4th floor. It was extremely upsetting that my friend's first stay at Jumeirah group hotels commenced with such a bad customer service experience. On top of that, it took them more than half an hour to bring our luggage (they told us it would take 5 mins) and it took 3-4 calls to the reception to get the minibar removed and get toiletries for the bathroom replenished (several items were missing on check in). Our bad experience did not end there as next day we discovered that they messed up the room charge and charged us more that they should have during check in and did not even apologise for their own mistake. My friend was disappointed with the stay and even the nice view could not outweigh the bad treatment we received from the reception. We will not stay again and do not recommend to others, the standards have fallen too low to feel welcome at this place. Avoid!
WeJust got back from a 7 days stay at Mina A Salam. The service was brilliant, the room was clean and impeccable, thanks to Dol.(House keeping). The breakfast had a huge selection and the kids were spoilt for choice every morning. The hotel pool was beautiful and relaxing.I had the view of the Burj Al Arab from my room. We went half board which allowed us to save a lot of money although I still believe their drinks are so over priced. There is a big selection of restaurants to eat the Pai Thai and Turtuga been our favourite. I certainly recommend staying at one of the Madinat hotels. The abra (water taxi) was also a favourite to move around the complex. We truly love our stay at the hotel. We also had free access to Wild Wadi.
We have stayed at the Jumeirah beach hotel for the past two years and loved it. However current staying at Jumeirah Mina a'salam for a change. We were woken Last night by the sound of running water. After alerting the staff who investigated the noise at 1.30 in the morning we were advised to change rooms. I had to repack at 2am and we changed rooms (minimal upgrade) After a disturbed night we are surprised from such a well thought of hotel at the indifference we have received. There has been no attempt to contact us about last night or even a bowl of fruit in our room!!! ( which we left behind in our last room at 2 am!) I feel because we didn't complain we have been taken advantage of The moral in this story is kick up a stink otherwise you are made to feel invisible. Poor show on behalf of the management team at this hotel who are hardly busy I am disappointed and surprised at their indifference
"One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in"
We stayed here for 3 nights in August on the way back from the far East. Although I wouldn't go to Dubai again in August (as it was way too hot), I would definitely stay in this hotel again. This is sheer luxury, the rooms are fantastic and the hotel is spotlessly clean. We felt like we were bathed in luxury from start to finish. When we were sunbathing round the pool, the staff came round with cold towels, iced water and iced lollies. Fantastic! The breakfast was amazing, so much choice. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would say that it's one of the best Hotels I have ever stayed in. Having stayed at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel a few years ago and loved that I would say that The Mina A'Salam is in a different league. Can't wait to go back.
"7 nights of luxury in this amazing hotel"
Just got back from a weeks’ stay at Mina A Salam. The service was brilliant, the room was clean and impeccable, the breakfast had a huge selection and everyone was so friendly and professional. The hotel lobby is beautiful and I had the view of the Burj Al Arab from my room. We went half board which allowed us to save a lot of money (there were 6 of us). There is a big selection of restaurants you can eat at. This is my second stay at one of the Madinat hotels and I highly recommend staying at one of the Madinat hotels especially as you get an Arabic feel with the abra (water taxi). It looks so pretty with the Burj Al Arab as a backdrop. I will be returning for sure.
