Highly recommend this resort if you don't want to be around Patong. Fantastic service, staff are friendly and always willing to help. Pools with bars, restaurants, breakfast menu covers all cuisines A short 3min walk to the main road where you can wander from bar to bar, endless seafood restaurants and more
"great service from front desk"
I'm very happy with my check in for setting us up to a room that will occupy 3 person instead of asking for another bed to set up in the room...and just charge me minimal charge. Leo the filipino guy was very pleasant and accommodating. other than the room attentand that is rude and unpleasant and giving bad face with us..everything is good. you can improve with breakfast attendant that don't pay attention much to the guest..maybe more staff too..other than that its all good.
The Movenpick is a great hotel for a family holiday. We stayed in the main part of the hotel in a superior sea view room. I wouldn't say it had a 'superior' feel and wasn't that spacious. But we weren't there to spend time in the room! The view of the lush green pool area and fantastic sunsets made up for it. Our room was kept spotless - very enthusiastic cleaning team! Overall the team at the hotel were most welcoming and very friendly. It was nice to have a number of restaurants to chose from. All of the food was tasty and portions were generous. Drinks were a bit pricey but no different to any other hotel. The proximity to the beach and main tourist area, means you can sample the local Thai restaurants and bars. We used two of the pools - the main pool wasn't too busy, always easy to get sun beds. The kids loved the slide and bubbles! Be warned though, the depth of the pool in places is deceptive and took some by surprise. Loved the buzzers to order drinks and snacks. The kids are well catered for - all drinks and food free. The menu is very inventive and the breakfast selection was popular. A few of us were unwell during our stay (no fault of the hotel) we had to call out the cleaning team in the night after the kids were poorly. Nothing was too much trouble. A great time was had by all!
"Great bar "
Nice evening, after several days of rain - popped in the garden bar for a predinner cocktail. Very nice and pleasant. Across the road from the sea. I walked past during the day so thought I'd pop in tonight..
"Great Service, Extra Services a Little Pricey"
We stayed here on our honeymoon and we had a great welcome with flowers and a fruit drink! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are big, but the beach is literally right across the road, which is nice. We ended up at the pool more often though! The restaurants and spa on site were much more expensive than outside (800 baht for a massage at a local massage place versus 1,700 baht for the same thing at the hotel) so you are paying for the convenience of it. The breakfast buffet had lots of options with tons of fresh fruit! We didn't have towels at first in our room, which was a little strange. It's a little far from most of the main attractions (like 40 minutes to the weekend market), but we knew it was going to be a little out of the way.
