Feels just like home during my visit. The services were great from the Bellman to the Concierge, and all around the property. Had dinner Mikado Japanese Steak restaurant. The chef was very friendly and the waitress is very good at her job. The food, out of this world. Highly recommend this restaurant!
"Not great, but serviceable "
I was here for a business convention. My room was comfortable. However, the bathroom bearly had room to close the door—very cramped. Also, though the room was described as a “pool view,” it was completely obstructed by a huge tree. One of my pillow cases was stained, and though I set it aside, it was not changed through three nights. The room was also a ten minute walk from the convention facilities. Those facilities were excellent, as was the food served to the attendees.
"Convention Hotel With a Nice Pool"
This is a convention hotel. Several bars, plenty of restaurants on property and a nice pool. If there for a conference, it’s very convenient. I would not choose this as my vacation hotel again. Not terribly pretty, kind of cold. lobby does not WOW, screams convention hotel. Beds are doubles and uncomfortable. The umbrellas over the tables outside the marketplace were green with mold. The staff was professional and pleasant enough, definitely not warm and fuzzy. There is a concierge desk with staff, but were not available any of the times I needed them. Housekeeping was cleaning the room next to mine and I asked for clean towels, I chose to pass on housekeeping for the extra Marriott points, I was told no and to call service and someone would bring them up. While shuttles to the Disney parks are included in the daily fee, there is no direct shuttle to Disney Springs which is right there. Do not use taxis unless money isn’t an issue or your on an expense account. Ubers are there within minutes and are a fraction of the cost. Think about 10-12 dollars as opposed to 30. Not kidding. I only mention all of this because I feel for the 4.5 star rating this hotel is getting, there should be a little more. The hotel is fine, it is average. I would much rather have stayed on Disney property. By the way, ask for a high room with a view of the parks, you can see all of the fireworks.
The hotel is very nice. Some of the food and restaurants are over priced. Loved the store! Hot tub should be more enclosed over top. But it was a nice stay for a conference. If you choose the going green option for the room cleaning make sure you get serviced as scheduled. I check in in Thursday on Monday requested but was told I had choose to go green. Suppose to be every 3rd day service.
"2,020 rooms, huge hotel!"
I had a top-floor upgraded room. Room was nice mattress too soft. Issues: water in BA sink faucet was difficult to dial back from scalding. One of my phones was not working. Did not report these 2 items. TV — volume did not work (like on a permanent mute) then suddenly came up. CNN wiggly and other channels at bottom of screen. Did report and was promptly answered by an engineer. Explained to me the old mini-bar circuitry was still tangled up with the TV. He fixed that and the wiggling diminished. No HD on many channels. Engineer explained that in December hotel is replacing TVs to flatscreen better quality in all 2020 rooms. Further explained how difficult it is to check all rooms prophylactically. Too many. Engineer very helpful as was Kenny both the FDesk guy and bellperson. Hotel over 30 years old. Beautiful lobby and water sculptures. Restaurants good (Siro and the other one next door). Sbx efficient and friendly while being overwhelmed with biz. Needs to open earlier. Gym excellent. Meeting rooms and gym too cold...bring a sweater!I gift shops and Open Pantry or whatever it is called was excellent and affordable.
