"Great location and value"
My wife and I stayed here at the recommendation of our daughter who had stayed here a few months earlier. It was a great visit. Even though we were on a short trip and only stayed one night, we loved the riad. Our room was huge...it had my favorite and and lock ever for a hotel room. We had dinner in the hotel because we were too tired to go out...and it was perfect. Everyone was friendly. My only complaint was the breakfast. We ate 30 minutes before the end time and they were out of some things and some things seemed like they had been sitting out for a long time. If we had gone earlier, I am sure it would have been ok.
"Exquisite, Regal, Marrakech Medina Paradise!"
Concerned about our Riad selection while timidly winding through the narrow streets of The Medina, led by a Moroccan who took our luggage and beckoned us to follow and pay him, we were pleasantly amazed and stunned when the door opened onto Palais Sebban. An exquisite Paradise unfolded before us, unparalleled hospitality was lavished upon us, and a pristine architectural wonder embellished with Moroccan authenticity and beauty was revealed. We were offered mint tea, while we were welcomed & introduced to the Moroccan safety concerns & available tour options. This is a safe haven, protected from the occasional motor bike & persistent merchant outside the walls. Fine dining is offered on-site, which we enjoyed on one of the many terraces, before the lush plantings, pavilion and plunge pool. Among other delectables, the full breakfast offered eggs cooked to order, fresh orange juice, fruits, breads and pastries. Although we did tour the sights both alone & with guide, many guests enjoyed this lovely property as a destination get-away, with its numerous amenities & rooftop terraces. Palais Sebban is conveniently located within walking distance to the numerous sites of Marrakech. Soothing music filtered up into our exquisite rooms from below during the day. We enjoyed a suite above the dining terrace the first evening. The sounds of guests did carry, so I would recommend an interior terrace room if you retire early. We again enjoyed a quiet, gorgeous room the following two evenings on the 2nd floor of an interior terrace. Both rooms were regal; we were graciously treated to an upgrade all three evenings. Tip: Taxis from the airport should cost 15 Euro, and drop you less than 200 yards from Palais Sebban, which is easy to locate with directions.
"A secret in a city... "
Driver was on time so friendly gave me a lil bit of history on the town... got to the raid and was greeted with a wArm welcome and mint tea (so delicious) the raid it self is beautiful and calm you would not think u was in a city can't hear any noise of the hustle and bustle of the street. The raid is location in the right place very assessable to the market and shops the Decor of the raid is so intricate and delicate just beautiful.... the food was not my cup of tea but I am a picky eater. would definitely stay here again my friends and I had a blast
The good: -The hotel is an attraction itself. Beautiful architecture and grand rooms (old wing). -Located near a main road so it's easy to get a taxi. Also only 8 mins to Jmaa el Fna. The bad: -We have traveled around Morocco for 6 days using different accomodations and only in Palais Sebban that we weren't offered traditional mint tea upon arrival which is basic and SOP. This already gave us an idea of what kind of hotel/riad this is. -Most of the staff are non-smiling and cold. They don't seem to love what they're doing. We were always the first one to greet them. Service is not personal and more of a huge hotel chain. -2 staff at the restaurant were always fighting with each other. I don't know why they have to show that to their guests. -Serving time at the resto is slow. Average food quality. -We requested for an early breakfast (our flight is at 7AM) and they agreed. We were served one small slice of almond pie and another round bread per person. How hard is it to fry an egg or maybe provide at least jams and butter' When I pointed it out to the concierge, he simply said it was too early for breakfast. Overall: The hotel is beautiful and well located. However, quality of service should be prioritized when choosing an accomodation in Marrkech. Moroccans are the warmest people I have ever encountered. We stayed in another riad in Marrakech which is more than half the price of this hotel and we had the best time there because of their warm and genuine service. The other riad's rooms are also comparable. Overall, I do not recommend this riad. Tip: When choosing a room here, make sure to pick the rooms in the old wing. The rooms in the new wing are small, basic, and too modern. The rooms in the old wing are the Moroccan rooms that you're expecting. We were given two rooms, 1 in the old and another in the new wing.
"Beautiful place to stay. Lacks the personal touch of other riads."
One of the most beautiful places I stayed in Marrakech and has perfect location for accessing all parts of the city both old town and new city. However, compared to other riads, this one felt much more like a hotel in that they didn't have a personal touch. The breakfast was a buffet and they didn't sit down and talk you through the history of the palais and it's surroundings which seemed to be the norm at other similar places. Really love it here though. Super beautiful. Just wanted to offer my one qualm.
