We've been to Puerto Iguazu after staying four days at Hotel das Cataratas in Foz do Iguaçu. This is a three stars hotel, a little old, needing a renovation. The rooms are small but the staff is five stars. They changed twice our room, because we asked for, and still being very nice and helpful. The breakfast could be better, mainly the "media lunas", typical Argentinean croissants... The bar at the lobby was interesting and we had dinner there every night...
While the hotel is in a great position with a awesome pool/common areas, the room is very dated and needs updating. The toilet seat and general fixtures and fittings were worn and certainly doesn't fit the cost of the room. We set the air conditioning at 20 degrees but never got below 23, however it felt more like 28 and we had an uncomfortable couple of nights. We slept with no sheets and duvet but still woke up sweating throughout the night. Even if we could sleep with the sheets, they were pilled and uncomfortable anyway. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here and I won't again.
We stayed in this hotel in 2014, and we thought the hotel looked very nice and well kept. Unfortunately, at this time, the hotel looks dated and not well taken care of, you can see some mildew on the ceiling on the hallways. The free breakfast was also a letdown. The front desk was very helpful. Its location is close to town, a short taxi ride, but I don't think we will stay here again.
"Nice place for families!"
We stayed here for 5 nights, longer than the usual customers because most people come just to see the falls and then leave after 2 days. We have 4 children and they range from teenager to toddler. All of them enjoyed their stay and didn't want to leave! The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and the breakfast buffet was great! The pool is beautiful and overlooks all three countries. There is a side pool that is heated so nice for the colder days. They also have a pool table which kept my older kids occupied for hours. It is a close walk to the city but a little far from the center of town but still walkable. We would stay here again!
"Very nice place to stay near Iguazu"
Very nice place to stay if you travel to Iguazu. Nice food with helpfull staff. Great swimming pool which is very calm so it is great place to relax - even in the evening when you can use external hot tube for quite long and it is open till midnight. Rooms are very nice.
