"Pantages downtown Toronto"
Pricey for what you get. It's worn down and not worth $250+ a night, even for downtown. We arrived in the early afternoon and checked in for one night. Got to our room and called reception; our room had heavy B.O.. I was asked by "Scott" the manager, to come down to get a key for another room. Long story short, he couldn't get the system to activate a new key - I had to go up and down several times, finally I stayed in my room thinking he would bring me the key or at least have it ready at reception. He didn't, not even a note to new shift staff. Wow, talk about snotty attitude and poor customer service coming from a manager. Not impressed by management nor conditions.
"Perfect for Families and Great Location"
We stayed here for 3 night and then a following night as we came back through Toronto. As a family of 5 finding accommodation with properly houses everyone without purchasing 2 rooms or a penthouse suite is tricky. This place is perfect for families. The design of the rooms give Mum and Dad a nice double room and for our 3 kids they were able to use the double sofa and a separate roll out bed. The kitchen is an extra bonus for ensuring to be able to cater for our 'little darlings' catering requests! The rooms are well furnished (neither basic nor luxurious) but perfect for us. The reception staff and doormen were really helpful and welcoming. When we arrived housekeeping saw that one of our girls was a bit sad so within 5 minutes of arriving there was a knock at the door and milk and cookies for everyone was presented! The location is fantastic, you are walking distance to the CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame and a huge shopping mall next door. Right next door is a diner that is fabulous for breakfast or dinner. Overall we would return again to this great little find, and at the price we paid (a quarter of the price of the usual Westin or Hyatts) we cannot fault it.
I stayed at this hotel as I was attending a business Trade show at the Toronto Convention Center which was a 1.3km walk. When I checked the prices of hotels located around the Toronto Convention Center they were cost prohibitive. I was at the Trade Show all day so required a room to sleep and then attend the Trade Show the following day and back home. I was not going to spend $600/night. I searched for hotels a bit further out and found The Pantages Hotel which was reasonably priced and located in the heart of the city. Check In was quick and relaxed thanks to Sam at the Front Desk. The room was located on the 10th Floor and when I entered, a light was on, robe on the bed nicely folded and full amenities. Stove, refrigerator, utensils, cloth napkins, dishwasher, ice for a drink after a long day was in the freezer compartment of the fridge. Enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
"In the heart of the city. "
The Pantages hotel id's located in the heart of the city with short walks to almost anywhere you want to see. It's next to Massey hall and one block from the Eaton centre. The hotel is clean and the rooms have all you ours was a self catering unit with a good size fridge and small store if you where so inclined to make your own meals on a long stay. Attached to the hotel through three lobby is a great and very popular diner called Fran's which my wife and I love for breakfast. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and so helpful. We enjoyed our stay and plan to stay there again.
Business travel/accommodations to downtown Toronto is becoming price prohibitive. The hotels prices, like the real estate prices are going through the roof. Yes, I am sure the supply vs demand paradigm is driving up the prices; but on to of the rising prices for the rooms you also have to pay extra for everything, parking, internet...
