"Not 5 stars"
One has to compliment the staff of the hotel. They all deserve awards and/or bonuses. They were friendly, helpful, polite, assisting, enquiring, and most obliging. Always asking how one is, how one likes the stay, is there anything they can do to assist etc. Should they all have gone through training before working, then compliments to the trainers and training courses. If not , then compliments to HR who choice the employees. The sand on the beach is soft and velvety and off white and it doesn't lose its softness and texture in the water. The water is turquoise blue and see through to the bottom. Literally crystal clear like in a pool. We stayed long enough to experience calm and stormy waters and each is beautiful. There is a huge building site on left side of the hotel (direction facing water) and then further down the coast with oil rigs and more building sites. It doesn't make for a pretty beach landscape. Only to the right side where the golf course is, is the landscape unperturbed. Not at all picturesque. There is no service at the beach other than one can order something to drink which is brought to one. No complimentary small fruits or appetisers or ice cream or small drinks in form of beach service. An umbrella will be opened and towels brought upon request. The hotel is smallish in comparison to its neighbor being built and existing neighbor hotel. This affords a good overview of the whole aerial and one never feels lost nor anonymous in a crowd. I found the corridors dark and underlit. At the beach restaurant we had to use our phones to read the menu. Certainly one could light the corridors more as well as the dining tables. This was mentioned by 20 something and 50 something year olds, meaning not a generational thing. The rooms are well sized and we had a nice side view of sea and golf course. The rooms were very clean and one could opt to have them cleaned twice a day. There are only two drawers in the rooms for private belongings. Yet there are 4 drawers used for tea/coffee and dishware. There is nowhere to hang face towels or bath towels. One hook is used for the bathrobe and only one other hook next to the shower area. The shower area is on a stone floor and the chances of slipping are enormous. We asked for a mat to be put there as it is wasteful to have to throw bath towels on the floor, get them soaking wet, just to dry off and not slip. I don't know how this shower situation passed inspection. suggestion: Make all drawers available for guests' personal belongings Look into mats or the like for avoiding shower danger Put more hooks and/or towel stands for face and bath towels One is allowed to smoke outside in the dining areas. With wind changing direction, one gets the smoke from all sides. Make a separate area for smokers. There is a seating area on the right side of the restaurant which could be utilised only for smokers. The breakfast tea and coffee situation needs to be looked into. For being registered as a 5 star luxury hotel, one would expect to have a choice of teas at one's disposal every morning. This not being the case, one is asked if one wants coffee or tea. If one opts for tea then it is brought either as loose leaves or tea bags. One is not asked which tea nor in what form one would like it. Then it is brought in some plastic glass containers after a long waiting period. I would suggest that one integrates into the food area a tea/coffee station , eg: boiling water from a samovar , with a vast display of various teas in various forms for one's own perusal, and this served in silver or ceramic and not in plastic contraptions. This would also save the at times long waiting time and element of surprise as to what form the tea comes in today. There is a door from the inside of the restaurant to the outside seating areas , with the one and same handle being used by every person going in and out . Highly unhygienic around food installations. Service personnel are there at peak times holding the doors open and close. Why not leave the door open during meal times'
"From a top tier member's perspective"
We work hard to earn our top tier status especially now that World of Hyatt has made it harder to maintain loyalty to their brand. As adventurous travellers, it is made even harder since there are not enough hyatt properties in the world to explore. That said, we are generally treated very well as was in the case at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi where we were upgraded to premium suites and given other perks like a very late check out for our 3am flight. We are thinking of switching over to the Marriott brand since they are now the largest chain in the world but it is will be hard to leave the Hyatt family after all these years.... As for particulars at the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, the best feature are the beach and the ambience at the Beach House restaurant for us. As for particulars at the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, we can appreciate what other reviewers say about unruly children, unsightly construction all around, mediocre and expensive food, etc., however, none of these concerns were a major problem for us during our stay.
The staff were very helpful and courteous. I'll definitely be back to stay at this beautiful hotel. An oasis in the desert. They have three or four restaurants that serve any and everything you could imagine!
"Room with Persian Gulf view"
As most Park Hyatt hotels are this property is excellent for business or pleasure. On the beach or at the pool is a relaxing experience couple with great service. If you are travelling to Abu Dhabi consider this hotel. Only a 20 Durham taxi ride downtown
"Relax on the beach"
Being there for the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi and wanted to have a look at it from the beach. Unfortunately they are building like crazy there that there is no view anymore(as it used to be before). Otherwise a wonderful stay in gerat hotel with a beautiful beach and pool. Will go back for suer!
