Fab spa visit - good value, lovely treatments and relaxing time by the pool. We had the 2 mini treatments (hot stone massage and mini facial) which the 2 of us (friends) were given at the same time in the same treatment room. Comfortable loungers by the pool and some magazines to read. Would have been even better if we'd been offered coffee or other drinks by the pool. Sauna and steam room are available by the pool. Changing rooms do the job although we did have a panic when we couldn't open one of our lockers and thought we'd be having lunch in the restaurant in our robes!

"Hidden gem of Manchester"
Prior to making the booking, myself and my friend spent a while on the internet looking through different hotels in Manchester. We planned on spending the night in Manchester to go out socialising so, we didn’t want to book a hotel that would be full of families or business people. Instead, we were looking for a basic room that would suffice for one night. The Park Inn came out on top when it came to pricing in comparison to other hotels however, on the map it looked to be a long way out from Manchester Piccadilly train station and the shops. We decided to book it based on the idea that we could use taxis if need be. The booking was made online and was very straight forward. When we arrived into Manchester Piccadilly train station, we chose to walk to the hotel via the Printworks. Although it was slightly out of town, it was a pleasant walk and didn’t seem to take too long. From the outside, the hotel looked well maintained with a taxi drop off area just outside. The reception area was very clean and modern. Checking in was simple and straight forward. The receptionist was all too happy to help with our reservation. The only little catch that I’d tell people to be careful of is make sure you book in advance. We tried to book the room for a second night whilst at the hotel and it appeared that the price rocketed because it was a last-minute decision. Our room (room number 213) was on the second floor of the hotel which was accessible by the lifts. The corridors to the room were immaculate and very well decorated. Again, it looked very modern and gave off the impression that the hotel was relatively new. Once we got to our room, it was a pleasant surprise how nice it was. The room was spacious and clean – perfect for just relaxing in. The beds were very comfortable with high quality pillows, duvets and sheets. The mood lighting in the head board gave the room a very relaxed feel and better still, it could actually be controlled from the bed. Also, another big positive point for this hotel was the free Wi-Fi which was accessible throughout the hotel and not just in public areas. The bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower. The Dove shower gel/shampoo and Dove hand soap were on the wall in dispensers. Easy enough to use and amply amounts in both. There were sufficient amounts of towels for two people and they were of good quality too – more than can be said for most hotels. The only downside we could find with the room was that the hair dryer didn’t work for some reason but, I’m sure if we called reception about this they’d happily have helped to get the problem resolved. In the evening when we were leaving the hotel to go into Manchester for the bars, we asked at reception for a taxi number (as we aren’t from the local area) but rather than just hand us a scrap of paper, they asked where we were going and ordered us one directly. They also provided us with a business card for a taxi company and a reference number for the hotel too for when we wanted a taxi back. I’ve never experienced this kind of service before in a hotel so it was lovely to feel at ease about everything and not have to do all the ringing around. Breakfast in the morning was very casual with all food being on a ‘help yourself’ basis. There wasn’t a great deal of choice for the cooked breakfast but, there was plenty to go around (even if it was 10:30am). We didn’t have to check out of the room until 12pm which was great as it meant we could just relax and not have to rush around in the morning. Check out was easy enough and just a case of handing over the key card and ensuring the bill was settled. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. It was fantastic for the price we paid and without doubt we would book to stay here again in the near future. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff and the hotel on the whole was to a standard way above what was expected.

Lovely hotel. First class service from start to finish. Great breakfast, would recommend this hotel. Only minor issue no car park so will cost an additional £16 per day to stay with NCP after hotel discount
