"I would not recommend."
Prior to arriving we sent an email asking directions to the hotel, they replied to take the tram to Hassan the second tram station and the hotel is right in front of the tram stop, WRONG! it is the tram stop BEFORE Hassan the second, a long and confusing walk toting luggage up and down streets looking for the hotel. Checked into hotel for what we reserved through bookings.com, a Jr suite with two beds and a Balcony, and when we arrived at our room' Second floor, back of the hotel, dark room and NO balcony. I went to the front desk with my booking confirmation and showed what we had booked, apparently this is a problem with their management as this was not the first time this had happened with people booking via Booking.com, management needs to revise the info the have provided to Bookings so that it is correct. We were offered a Superior suite with a KING bed, a bit awkward as we are two guys, friends yes, but. As it was only for one night we thought what ta heck. Interesting that when were in the original room for the 5 minutes and checking things out, there was a large bottle of water in the fridge. When we called down to reception for a bottle of water as we were told the water was NOT drinkable in the taps, we were charged 25 dirhams for a bottle of water that we thought might have been included in the SUPERIOR room. Bathroom wise, clean and good water pressure and good supply of hot water. Holes in the wall where what must have been a place to hang a towel or bath robe. Breakfast wise, ok. Nothing special. On check out, we left ourselves plenty of time ( so we thought! ) to catch the tram the one stop to get us with in waking distance of the train station. HA! Three attempts too use credit card to check out unsuccessful, after fiddling around for about 15 minutes, I finally said, please just use the credit card number that was provided by Booking.com to pay for the room, " Oh we don't have access to that number" Um, yes you do, because if we were a no show or cancelled the reservation you would have charged my credit card. It was a Sunday, no banks were open and we had to catch a train in 20 minutes, finally we paid with all the cash we had on hand and were left with not a lot of Dirham for the onward journey, not a nice way to start off on a vacation. Receptionist was polite and obviously trying her best, but management needs to adjust their info to Bookings.com and to get a better way for guests to check out.
"Great location and service"
This is a great little hotel in the best area of Casa, to explore on foot - we were able to walk everywhere / take short cab rides to everything of interest. The room and bathroom were clean, airy and spacious. Special mention to the ladies at reception who were very helpful with the check-in process and bookings in general. Also had a great conversation with the owner (Rashid') who gave us tips for the rest of our stay in Morocco travelling to different cities. In fact his recommendations for Marrakech leg (Cafe Poste, Buddha Bar etc) ended up making our Morocco experience a very memorable and exciting one, completely different to our expectations!
The reason I am writing this review is to prevent the same incidents we had by this hotel management, though we didn't stay this hotel. We book this hotel to look around city center ( old medina and street food , so on) of Casablanca before going back to home after visiting Marrakech. So I paid this hotel for one night at the time of booking to the hotel.com. When we arrived at 4 :30 afternoon, we waited over 20 mins in the lobby without being informed and finally hotel staffs came to us that the room supposed to be for us was not checked out because previous guest got hospitalized in the morning. The staff claimed they sent notification e mail ( but it was arrived at 4 :15 pm in my e mail account while I was on the way to hotel) and all hotels nearby were completely booked . So they put us to the other hotel 20 min away from the city center and this new hotel was much inferior quality and lower price than the park suite hotel . After checking in, we found out that the park suite hotel had still vacancy at that night in the hotel.com website with the price of almost 3 times ( $ 452) higher than what we paid ( $ 162)! In addition, many hotels in the city center were available too, but park suite hotel chose the one as low as they could pay. Since no Casa trams and trains were nearby, we asked the park suite hotel to give the free ride to the airport next morning and the manager did it for us. After we came back to home, we complained to the hotel.com and received the refund. Next time, I would use reliable international brand hotels to keep my trip plan.
The area is a mix of shady and civilized transitors and residents. I enjoyed the room which was spacious since all rooms are suites. However, the absence of a corridor and seperation from main entrance door to bedroom makes the space look small and lacking intimacy. I requested the highest floor which is the sixth and an advantage at the hotel is there are only two rooms per floor which makes it quiet. Regarding tranquility, I asked for a side street room which was given to me and it was indeed calm. There is a spa right above the sixth floor so it would be preferable if the hotel insisted on low-voice speech while heading from the spa to elsewhere in the hotel and vice versa because the door of the spa is in front of room 601, the room i stayed in. I had called the hotel in the morning to make sure they reserve a parking spot in front of the entrance. The hotel guard sleeps at the entrance on a bench, which is strange and not visually appealing, however, that guarantees his constant watch on your vehicle. The hotel side street where the main entrance is very calm. Rue de Tevres, although the address is Hassan 2, its actually the small street which can be confusing using GPS etc. Small kitchen very well equipped, heating worked well, wifi as well. Overall a good stay, breakfast is exclusive of the payment, unfortunately for aficionados of hotel breakfasts, not me.
"Room window to a storage"
I booked the room by a online booking website. I haven't got a great deal, but the room was nice. A big problem was the room's view: to a storage area without sun light (totally closed). The breakfast was nice but not coincident with the price i paid. I requested a taxi at the reception (uber in casablanta is crap!) and the recepcionist told me to wait for a taxi with whom they have an accord... thirty minutes I was still waiting.
