"A little misleading "
First of all, when we booked this we were under the impression it was adults only... no, it's adult orientated-that is a misleading way to say kids are allowed but not encouraged-I have to say, the kids that were there were well behaved and didn't really bother us but I probably wouldn't of booked had I known-the service was very good and everyone was nice. Here's my issues-people we're allowed to smoke and eat in the pool-not on their chairs but in the pool!! We have a pool and we would never allow anyone to eat or smoke in our pool-drinks we're super weak but I guess that's how it is in this all inclusive-my biggest beef-the restaurant Satay apparently required reservations; I didn't read the fine print, my bad but when we tried to eat there they said we needed a reservation-there was one table in there-it was 6 when they opened and nobody was there-they told us the restaurant was booked full-we came back by at 7:30 and there were 4 tables outside, then we stopped by at 8:30 and still open tables The staff was nice, great location but you need to up your game-we paid 349 usd a night We expected more
"It is a real privilege to stay here..."
I was a little reluctant to stay in Isla, as I imagined it would be somewhat rural and natural (i.e fans instead of a/c, dodgy showers, that kind of thing), hence we managed to find a hotel that seemed nice enough. It did not fail. On the contrary, yes, Isla is hot, and noisy, and does not have all the services, but that is the charm of the island. However, one foot inside Privilege Aluxes and you feel happy and comfy again. The bed, the room, the food, did not miss a thing, and again, I am very, very exigent. And the staff are marvelous. Although it has a copious breakfast buffet, I wanted a special plate that, of course, was not part of the offer, and they did not hesitate to prepare it for me. Thanks to the lovely lady who cooks the eggs. Housekeeping and reception teams are great also. They seem happy to work there. But a special mention to Anel, from F&B. She went out of her way for a special requirement and she was on top of that from minute one. Worth every single penny. Do not think about it, this hotel is as luxurious as any other great hotel in mainland.
"WE LOVED THIS PLACE!!"
Ok, we were here for a week and loved it. We did ALL INCLUSIVE (please do this). The food was great, the service amazing. Whether we were at the pool bar, or at Satay, or at the Beach Restaurant...it was all wonderful....I cannot wait to go back. PLEASE make sure you take in the Mexican BBQ on the beach (to die for) AND I would recommend doing Satay more than once...it was really great. LOVED IT!
"A little oasis between the hurricane and earthquake"
My husband and I just returned from another trip to our favorite place. Privileges Aluxes continues to be such a friendly, clean, pretty and fun place to visit. With all the natural disasters in the surrounding areas, we experienced great weather (although I did learn the difference between "storm surge" and "high tide"). It's hard to say what we like best at Privileges but the friendly staff from management to security is way up there. Many of the staff we have come to consider friends over the 30+ visits we have made there so are excited to get an update on their families. Management continues to focus on keeping the facility in top condition which we appreciate. We feel totally safe. And of course, the sun setting over the crystal clear blue water is an every afternoon "must". We thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us and look forward to seeing you again in November!
"Breakfast buffet was good"
We stayed next door at Nautibeach, but walked by the breakfast restaurant everyday and decided to give it a try and we're glad we did! The service was good. There was a huge variety of food! I'm a picky eater and everything from the mini chicken burritos to the sweet breads to the fruit was amazing! And you get a mimosa or Bloody Mary with each buffet purchase! It was pricy for a buffet, but totally worth it in our opinions!
