"Why did I feel cold "
I reserved this hotel because it had a pool and this was good but too cold. The reception area is always cold and this is because of the system of doors. In the breakfast area you have the same problem. The breakfast in excellent with fantastic variety and first class food for all tastes. Make sure you book a dinner slop in B1 as it is always busy for their buffet dinner. Good location for shopping.
"Excellent location, and a very good hotel"
Attending a conference in Shanghai, the hotel provided excellent conference facility, very nice guest rooms, with a comfortable bed, and a very nice touch - electrical outlets for "foreign" electronics. The hotel restaurant was good with an extensive buffet for both breakfast and dinner. The central location was a major plus, and although busy, the hotel staff were extremely helpful, and made every effort to accommodate. The central location, right off the highway made for easy access to the airport, and the hotel is just across from the subway, and accessible for taxis. I would definitely stay here again. The spa was under renovation while I was there - so I am unable to offer any insights into the spa services.
"Smart hotel close to restaurants and bars"
Spent a very nice two nights here on business. It's a very large 50+ floor hotel. I had a room on the 18th floor with views across Shanghai. The room was large with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom with both bath and separate shower. Wifi was strong and there were other nice touches like an ipad dock. Air conditioning was pretty weak however and it struggled to cool the room down even though the outside temperature was mild. The breakfast was fantastic. A huge buffet with a selection of Western and Chinese foods. Everything I had was good quality. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Dapuqiai metro station so it's well connected to the city. There's a great range of cafes, bars and restaurants above the station. On the other side of the station, just off Taikang Road, is a set of narrow street full of independent shops, bars and snack places. It's a great way to get away from the noise and scale of Shanghai and relax. Highly recommended.
"Great hotel in a good spot"
Good room we booked a junior suite with club lounge access. By far the best club lounge we had in China with a great selection of food & beverages. Rooms are a little dated but everything else was great including the breakfast buffet. 5 minute walk to the metro & French Quarter which were great to go to.
"Train up your trainee before they have customer contact"
In general, location is good, high quality breakfast with wide choices, rooms are dated but spacious. Service needs to improve especially the trainee doorman. I arrived the hotel by taxi with baggage, and there is nobody to assist. When I try to get a taxi, the trainee doorman asked me to go outside and grab a taxi myself, because they have no manpower. I don’t expect this is a service from a five-star international hotel.
