"Very nice hotel and service"
Room was clean and huge, excellent breakfast with lot of choice. Staff is very helpful and kind. (special thanks to Vane). Indoor heated swimming pool and sauna are also very enjoyable. Location is ok, not so far from the bund, nanjing road and other places.
"Great hotel for weekend"
We had a nice New Years Eve weekend this year in Pullman. I really enjoyed the stay. Rooms are big. We had the one with a living room "separated" by the wall. View was quite good, even though hotel is not very close to the bund. Breakfast was amazing! Combination of Western and Chinese food:) I was craving for pancakes and cheese for months, and finally I had it all in the hotel! Additionally, Thanks to Florian (Guest Experience Manager) for exceeding our expectations!:)
"Great hotel - became my Shanghai favourite"
I've stayed in this hotel now a couple of times since 2016, and in my opinion it has still improved a bit compared to my first stay. The location is very convenient for sightseeing (either taking a taxi to Nanjing Rd. - otherwise 4 Metro stops with interchange, or 4 Metro stops to do the skyscraper visits). The level of English spoken in this hotel feels high above average, even for luxury hotels in China. This allows also for a very high level of service regarding the organization of taxis, dinner locations etc., which I really can recommend to use - just ask staff for their favorites! The check in went very smooth, I agree with some previous reviewers (if you're not a LeClub Platinum member), book an executive room for the lounge access to have a relaxing drink in the evening. I also booked this kind of room and received my status member upgrade to a larger studio room (in a corner of the building), which I really enjoyed. But from my previous stays I can say that also the 'smaller' type of rooms are already large and very nice. Rooms are in perfect shape and the house keeping went smoothest - it usually worked out that housekeeping made up my room while I was having breakfast in the hotel, that's a big plus at least for me, as I don't like to feel the need of leaving my room at some point so that housekeeping can do its work. Regarding the breakfast: Try to get a room rate where it is included. Otherwise it's still worth trying it at least once, even though it is of course on the pricey side - you will regret that you haven't pre-booked it, especially if you never had such a huge buffet before. The executive lounge (or club lounge as they call it now I think) is on the top floor (52nd) of the hotel with great views around, as the hotel is the tallest building in the area. The 'usual' small chinese draw-backs prevent a 5*-rating (which I rarely do for hotels anyway): Even with the smoking ban you can smell smoke, not that often as in other areas where it is not allowed, but this is a no-go for me. At the breakfast, sometimes the staff is not attentive enough regarding coffee refill and/or re-setting the tables that sometimes some items are missing and you have to ask for it, even if a lot of staff is bustling about as usual in China. Nevertheless, this is my current favorite in Shanghai and I fully recommend it!
"Fantastic hotel in Shanghai"
The location, is very good, close to the city center, bund, etc. You have the metros just at 2 minutes walking distance from hotel. Also you have some fantastic touristic areas at 5 minutes walking. All the hotel is very good. I will just say that the staff at the restaurant is not very well trained. There are some mistakes that cannot happens in a 5 stars hotel, mainly due to problem with communication with the staff. But generaly speaking experience in the hotel was very good as always. I am traveling very often to Shanghai, and I am always visit same hotel. The price is very reasonable
We booked 6 rooms for December 24 check-in. We are all Accor members for so many years now and this is the first time that we come across this kind of poor service from Pullman. We arrive at the hotel at around 12:30noon and the front desk personnel informed us that our room is not yet ready and told us to eat lunch first and then the rooms will be ready at about 2pm. When we came back, she told us that the rooms are not yet ready because they guests inside the rooms requested for late check-out and that they also have only one housekeeping personnel per floor to fix and clean the rooms. ( would you believe that' Come on, she is definitely lying. A 5* hotel like Pullman have only one person cleaning all the rooms on each Floor'!!) The rooms are finally ready at 4pm! They don't even apologize to us for being so slow and yet blaming us in return stating that the reason that they cannot give us the rooms right away is because we want our rooms on the same floor but we did inform them 2 weeks before our trip that we would like to be on the same floor as much as possible only if there is availability. One of the front desk personnel even argue with us saying its not their fault, then whose fault is it, ours'!
