"Radisson Blu Hotel Amsterdam Airport & Amsterdam"
Our tour brought us for a 2N stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel which is about 10 mins ride from the airport. The hotel has a shuttle bus that takes you to the airport where you could then take a train to Amsterdam Central for some shopping and dining and also to the red light district. Very convenient. The hotel is equipped with a wonderful gym that opens through the night. All you need to do is to get an access card from the hotel front office. Breakfast was not fantastic as the tour groups were parked to the ballroom for a separate buffet spread that consists of the usual bread, cereal, sausages and scrambled eggs. Service staff at the front counter was polite and the hotel rooms are big and clean. Aircon is also working and bed is very comfortable. Hotel has free wifi and the speed is fast. From the hotel, we took a shuttle to the airport and bought a return train ticket (about 9 euro) to Amsterdam central. If you have enough coins to purchase a ticket from the ticketing machine, it would be slightly cheaper. However, as there were 4 of us, we went to the ticketing counter to purchase our tickets. You need to look at the TV monitor to find out which platform to board the train. Sometimes late at night, they may switch to another train at another platform. So good to check. There are lots of eateries at Amsterdam Central. You may even walked a little further to the Dam area for their major shopping belt with shops like Forever 21, Zara, Body Shop, Adidas, etc. We dined at this Dutch restaurant called Tomaz Dutch Food & Drinks. Free use of toilets. They open from 12 to 5pm. Their mash pot is very yummy. WE ordered the stewed beef with red cabbage mash pot and the meatball mashpot. The latter is tastier. We also order a burger with fries. The fries are simply delicious. Service staff is both polite and willing to help. You may ask them for recommendations on drinks and food and they will guide you along. There are also shops selling cheese. I like the smoke cheese best. Tried the wasabi one and it doesn't taste good. Prices may differ slightly from shop to shop so if you see and taste something you like, just buy it. We visited the Red Light District in Amsterdam at night. It was colourfully lighted and a good place to take photo. But you must never take photo of the girls on window display or the bouncers will come to you. Wheat smell is in the air around the district and if you see a 'coffee shop', that is the place one could go to take a puff. Space cookies and brownies are sold in shops around the area but make sure you are with some friends when you have a go at it. As you walk along, you will also see queues at 'cinemas' at 10-15euro. Very interesting sight and very crowded. It wasn't rowdy or choatic. Everyone just moved along in the crowded streets along the shops front, taking in the sights and displays around them. Just need to be careful of your handbags and belongings.Put them in front of you and don't linger or walked ever so slowly in crowded places. We also took a cruise down the many waterways around Amsterdam. Very relaxing cruise. You will come across Anne Frank House and houses built on boats. Very quaint living quarters and eateries. Amsterdam is like Venice, surrounded by water.
"Excellent staff, modern rooms"
Stayed for three nights in the business room. The staff was very friendly, helpful and kind (they even provided me with pills for my migraine and checked if I am really OK several times Unobtrusively) The hotel and its equipment is nice and modern. The only trouble I had was immediately taken care of (was misinformed that I have to pay extra for breakfast but it was already included to the busines room price). Complimentary Nespresso on the room, great breakfast buffet and nice restaurant to have couple drinks and dinner after work. Could not open window to get some air (I hate AC) - probably to prevent people from smoking.
Nice, clean and quiet rooms, comfy beds etc. these are standard hotel features you will mention if you enjoyed staying in the property. but this specific hotel had the most effective feature that you will ever wanted, employees. I have forgotten my passport in the room safe and took the shuttle bus to the airport. when I realized the situation I had 1 hour 45 minutes to my flight. I took the same shuttle to return to hotel and on the way I called hotel if they can bring down my passports to save time. On the way shuttle driver heard me talking to hotel about my passports and called his colleague to arrange a private ride to take me to hotel faster. he came along and took me on the half way back to hotel from the shuttle. Couldn't believe it. This is not about service, this is about being good person. I took my stuff in the hotel from another superman (i guess he was from technical service) who opened my safe to grab my passports. He saw my situation and called someone to arrange me another private transfer to go back to airport much faster and the driver took me to airport to catch my flight. These people, I don't know their names (fell bad about it) but they were the heroes to save the day. It won't be enough to say thank you for such an act and team work but Radisson Blu Airport Hotel is very lucky to have these good hearted people. If I go back to Amsterdam this is place I will be.
"Nice airport Hotel"
Stayed here for one night before our cruise. Shuttle is very convenient and takes one right to the airport. The buffet breakfast was quite ample..Room was modern and clean.. The hotel charged 30 euros for early morning checkin but was well worth the price after an overnight flight. Free internet was available in the room.
"Excellent hotel near Schiphol airport with free convenient shuttle"
We needed a reasonably priced hotel near Schiphol airport and the Radisson Blu was perfect. The hotel is sleek and modern. We were welcomed and checked in quickly. Our room was spotlessly clean with a modern bright bathroom. Comfortable bed, mini bar and coffee maker. Free wifi too. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. The prices are a bit high but worthwhile for the excellent service and food, a cut above the usual hotel restaurant. We could see the airport from our room but didn't hear the planes. We were pleased with the free shuttle to the airport. Their website tells you what time the shuttle will be at the hotel and the airport. This hotel is perfect if you need to stay near the airport.
