"Not 5 stars by my standard!"
This hotel is definitely suitable for business rather than holiday in terms of luxury and staff. On arrival we were greeted with a cold face. There was no introduction to the hotel, ie when and where breakfast is served, where the spa is etc. It is worthwhile noting that there were lots of conferences being held. We ended up going to the spa on the first night (note: kids are allowed in after 8 even though the hotel rule is no kids after 8 o'clock) and ordered the burger from in room dining. The quality of food was appalling, the burger tasted of cheap frozen burger (not a surprise that we did not finish our food) Room service was also very disappointing, not enough towels for 2, no slippers, the dirty glasses were not removed from the room and there was no turndown service. Concierge was also either away from desk or unable to speak on the phone. We were directed to front desk staff who seemed to know less about Berlin than we knew from googling a couple of things! Note to management: perhaps as part of the front desk training, ask your staff to smile and not avoid eye contact or move away from the desk when you are clearly standing in front of them about to ask a question I would certainly not recommend this hotel to any friends nor will I return unless it is a business trip where minimum staff interaction is required.
"Two night business event"
Amazing location. Very clean rooms. main reception area with that large fish bowel is stunning. Top notch hotel at very reasonable rates. staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. Enjoyed the Spa and gym.
"Very Good stay"
Had an amazing stay at this wonderful hotel! Got some treats for my birthday, which was lovely :) had an amazing view over the Spree and the Berliner Dom. Had a lot of choice during breakfast, everything was fresh!
"Great hotel and good lication"
Generally a good hotel with some interesting features. There is an enormous cylindrical aquarium in the lobby that extends above the 8th floor. You can request rooms facing inwards on to this aquarium or outwards with a city view. Some of the rooms have wall murals (mine was by SutoSuto - bears on the television tower) and “cafe style” seating next to the bed. The hotels location is good as it’s about 300 or 400m from Alexanderplatz. Worth a visit.
"Friendly, Professional Staff and Clean Rooms"
I stayed here for two nights recently and very much enjoyed my stay. The hotel is in a great part of Berlin, immediately next to the cathedral and within walking distance of other tourist attractions, restaurants and bars. The staff is very welcoming yet professional. My room was clean and spacious. I had a room overlooking the aquarium. The aquarium, in itself a tourist attraction, was impressive. Breakfast was included in my rate and had something for everyone: hot foods like eggs, bacon and sausage, pastries, cereals, fruit, meat and cheese. My favourite part was that they give you an entire pot of coffee! For our event we had a reception in the Dom Lounge. The food provided was tasty and plentiful. Again, the staff was great. The conference facility was nice as well. There is a taxi rank outside and it is not far to Tegel; around €25. The rooms have a mini-bar, coffee/tea maker, nice toiletries and a hair dryer. I would definitely stay here again.
