"Good hotel, great location"
This hotel is well situated in Oslo. Museums, shopping, and food are all easily walkable. It's also a quick walk to the nearest metro station and only a little further to the harbor. The hotel has parking nearby, but it's through a 3rd party company so you have to be careful to pay at the machines. The hotel itself was good. It appears to be in a building that's a little older, but has been cared for. The rooms were standard & clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly.
"Perfect base in Oslo"
We stayed here for two nights at the start of an organised tour. Our room on the 16th floor commanded a wonderful view towards the waterfront. The welcome dinner for our group was very good, and served efficiently. Breakfast was excellent, with an extensive range of cold and hot food options. Having access to tea/coffee making in the room was a bonus. The hotel is very conveniently placed for exploring the city, and beyond, being within easy walking distance of both the rail and bus stations. Although this is a large and busy hotel, it was extremely quiet at night, and, with such comfortable beds and pillows, we left feeling well rested to enjoy the remainder of our holiday.
"Minivacation in Oslo"
After an exhausting work week I decided to stay a couple of nights in Oslo and I chose Radisson Blu Scandinavia as my hotel. The front desk assistants were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing! The hotel's sky-bar had an amazing view and very pleasant staff. Definitely a hotel I could stay in again. The room I was staying in wasn't decorated that nicely, but that just comes down to my personal preferences. The headboard lighting was (to my taste) cheesy oceanic color. Other than that the rooms was nice and spacious.
"Weekend in Oslo"
we had a lovely stay in the center of the city. Travel to and from the airport was easy, comfortable and not loo long on the fast bus. The hotel was lovely and staff friendly. Breakfast was ok. Us being vegetarian/vegans, the hot food was a bit limited as was the choice, however, the chef was more than happy to knock up something which I didn't realize until the end of the stay. Think it would be good to have the selections laid out. Great City and very clean. Walked everywhere except when it rained, so used the trams & trains.
I spent three nights in this hotel as part of a business trip. I will definately not come back to this hotel anymore on any of my future business trips. It all started with check in at 14:00 and i was told my room is not available but i can upgrade for an additional charge. Never experianced such a sales pitch when arriving in a hotel and i am traveling quite a bit. After denying the offer, he suddenly found another room in he same category i booked, but with two single beds. Since i am traveling alone, this did not bother me at all. The room was literally 2 meters next to the elevator which was quite a bit of noise in the next 3 days. After trying to switch on internet without success, i moved my laptop away from the desk to the front door and suddenly i had a signal. Internet seems to be good on the corridors, but not at the elevator area. Very annoying when you try to work. For lunch, we have chosen the restaurant in the hotel as it was quite convenient for a break during meetings in the hotel meeting room. Fish with mash potatoes was served. It looked like it was on the plate for quite a while and cold as ice. When i cut the fish, it was completely raw in the middle, so i gave it back to the waiter who luckly came to see us after 10 min. He appologised and offered me a different menu, which i didn't take. It was the last time that i had lunch in this restaurant. But i need to say that breakfast was quite good, except the speed of the service. I took 2 bottles of water out of the mini bar as well as one bottle of orange juice on the first day. The fridge was dirty and not refilled for the entire 3 days. Glasses have not been removed or replaced from the day before. After complaining at the reception they apologised and gave me the water for free. Overall very disappointing experience and this hotel will never see me again. There are by far better choices in Oslo.
