We visited St Helen's for a short but ultimately sweet stay last week. I love organising getaways for us, and with our anniversary in September the plan was busy but everything played out. Everything from the moment we contacted the hotel to book a room, a very late arrival with an efficient and very nice night receptionist to a lovely and delicious breakfast the morning after was special. We were upgraded to a business class room and it was marvelous! Tea & Nespresso facilities for late night dreamers, a well fitted mini bar (I behaved very well!) and the bed - the comfiest of beds we ever slept in. The paper in the morning was a great touch, and a nice way to start the day with a cuppa on a sunny balcony with a great view. The breakfast top class. We were quite late to it, and it would still be hot and fresh. Compliments to the restaurant staff, Clementine (I hope I got the name right) was very prompt to get tea and coffee for us. Muy bien! Checkout was very swift and smiley, I wouldn't be surprised if the girl on the desk was a mind reader as she promptly offered assistance for transport back to city centre. Top class, we wish we could have stayed another night but were rushing home to our wee daughter. Thank you kindly, and hopefully see you again in the future!
"Business Suite + Restaurant-Bar are excellent "
Staying at the RB St Helen's for a business trip and was pleasantly surprised I got a huge business suite along with free breakfast and news paper every morning. In addition they have an in room tea pot and espresso maker. The staff performing turn down service are very accommodating providing me with extra water and tea. The Croatian bar manager is excellent, greeting me with a smile and drink suggestion for each visit. The food was excellent and I enjoyed each drink that I experimented. The bar area is immaculate and very orderly. It is a pleasure to go there after a long work day.
Stayed here few time , good hotel in a very convenient location for the city as the darts just down road. The rooms are very well finished and very comfy beds. food in bar is nice but menu bit limited, breakfast is excellent and great choice in a beautiful setting. The garden are immaculate and lovely to sit out in during summer day.
"Wonderful stay at the Radisson Blue St Helens"
It is lovely to see such a grand old house and gardens transformed so tastefully into a very comfortable hotel. We felt thoroughly looked after and pampered by the staff who were always friendly and went that extra mile to ensure we had a great time. Thank you .
"Property needs renovation, but service is top notch."
There were two major problems with our room. The AC was broken and so was the mini fridge. The room was stuffy, especially at night when it felt hot under the comforter and there was no air. We were traveling with a small child, so a working fridge was essential for storing baby food. Under these circumstances, I would normally give a hotel two stars but the fantastic service here deserves another two. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful. At check-in, our room wasn't ready. The reception staff member took us to the executive lounge and offered complimentary coffee etc. Later, when we told them that the AC was broken, they offered to switch the room or a table fan. We took the fan. It helped a lot at night. They stored our baby food at the restaurant fridge. We requested it to be sent back to us multiple times throughout the day and night. Every time, it was delivered within 5-10 minutes, always with a smile. They also sent us warm milk for the baby free of cost multiple times. These little things made a big difference and felt us very welcome. I hope that they will fix the basic problems with the physical infrastructure soon.
