Hotel is split into two sections - a block with rooms on one side of the road, complete with a gym and lovely long lap pool. On the beach side of the road is the main hotel, with restaurants and the villas. We were staying in one of the 30 or so pool villas. The hotel is lovely and small, so that you feel that it's quite exclusive, and nothing is more than a few minutes' walk away. Breakfasts were wonderful - one of the best buffet selections I've ever experienced (and we live in Dubai...), fabulous coffee, and superb section of both eastern and western dishes cooked to order. There's even a help yourself Bloody Mary bar... quite the thing to get you into a relaxed mood for the day! Staff at all restaurants, spa, reception, and cleaners were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help.
One of the most beautiful places to stay in Koh samui...we had a villa right next to the beach ..private balcony with French doors opens up directly to the beach ..and the facilities are amazing ...the food , staff and happy hour are amazing !

"LAGOM(GOOD ENOUGH) ...BUT"
This is a quality RESORT with a beautiful landscape, good food ,excellent rooms with balconies, nice pools ,fabulous staff and basically everything you want in a RESORT however the website is a little misleading alluding to a beach behind the pool, there is no beach it's just very shallow water maybe 200mm deep and doesn't get any deeper ( until December)this to us was very disappointing . The hotel do offer a shuttle service to swimming beaches and I must say they were quite generous with this system .The other thing you should be aware of is all the RESORT rooms are on the other side of the road with only Villas in the RESORT area, the distance from our room to breakfast or the main pool area is approx 150 to 200 mtrs that require a lift and stairs and grounds are quite hilly. Good exercise I suppose . The final negative comment I make is that every purchase is ++ ie plus tax plus service. This is common practice in most up market RESORTS so I guess I should have known this. After a couple of days I got over my disappointments and enjoyed our stay at Renaissance Ko Samui.
"Autoventure from Singapore"
Stayed here for 4 days. Was given a room that faces the beautiful sea. Be aware that this island is very hot (averagely 34 degrees Celsius) all year round so make sure room air conditioner is working. Happened to get a room with this problem but the technician was good and fixed the problem without having to change room. Before that, got a fan first. There were 2 swimming pools- we used the lap pool which wasn't well maintained - as it seems to have some dirt or at bottom of pool. Would be nice if hey were not there. The hotel is quite far from the main road so unless you drive or arrange transportation, it can be quite a walk- maybe 400 m. Under the hot sun, can be very sweaty. The massage place on the main road is pretty good and not expensive but ask for an experienced one. The smaller pool for dipping is near the beach but has better view and looks cleaner. The free breakfast is pretty good and has a good spread. Staff at breakfast are extremely jovial and friendly which brightens our day.
