"Decent hotel in center location"
A very good business hotel, with good service, center location, and very affordable price. KLCC is right in walking distance, which means convenient location to every where but also pretty bad traffic all the time. Service is good, though not excellent; the lobby is chaotic from time to time. It's a rather bigger size Renaissance so lacks of warm and orderly feeling. But for a sub $100 business hotel in the heart of KL, no complaint and definitely will recommend and come back.
"New rooms but inconvenient "
The hotel is located in a convenient location in the city. There is a monorail station just across the road. The hotel has two wings; east and west. Check in is at the east wing but we were given rooms in the west wing which were newly renovated. As gold members, we have access to the lounge but it's located in the east wing. So there is this big inconvenience of going between east and west wing. They are by no means near. I wish the hotel management would consider the inconvenience for guests. If guests have access to lounge, then they should be put up in the wing where the lounge is located.
Initially I was very worried after booking the hotel and reading the reviews but everything was top class. The check in, check out was smooth and quick. Breakfast had a good variety. Linen and towel were spotless. Bed was very comfortable. Swimming pool was huge Probably the most convenient location to stay in KL with hop on hop off monorail at walking distance. Traveller Tips: Insist on a West wing room. There is a new breakfast venue called the Vogue cafe located on the west wing the variety is a bit lesser but it's worth it to avoid the crowd in the east wing. The only part I thought which they could improve would be if they changed few varieties of the breakfast daily. The menu was repetative and for guest staying for more than a day it could get monotonous. We were on our honeymoon and they extended their gesture by sending a wonderful cake to our room. The renovation work didn't bother us anyways cause we were out of the room between 10 AM to 6 PM. Choose this hotel without a doubt.
"Very Far From Five Star"
The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is just a few minutes walk from the Monorail (Bukit Nanas) and from Petronas Towers. Unfortunately, that is really all it has to recommend it. The hotel is very dated both outside and inside but it is currently being renovated and this is reflected in the price of the rooms (at least it was in the case of the rooms we had in the East Wing). However, in my opinion, housekeeping standards are poor. The rooms should be much cleaner - for example the smell from the fridge was terrible - and the service is inconsistent - on some days towels, toiletries and tea/coffee supplies were not replaced. The breakfast buffet is disappointing. At first glance, it looks like there is a great selection of items but, on closer inspection, the range of food items is not great (for example very limited fruit and pastry choices) and it is very much geared towards Asian tastes. Service in all areas of the hotel was poor, particularly the restaurant (at breakfast time) and reception, and staff could definitely do with some customer service training. It is unlikely that I would choose this hotel again or recommend it to others.
"Awesome stay for family of four"
We had a three night stay, and were glad to have a pool open until 11PM. After dinner kids had a place to enjoy their time and consume excessive energy. Nice service, helpful staff. During check-in we had to stay in a line, which was obviously distracted by other rude customers to go ahead of us, but the staff noticed and were kind enough to call us to other counter to serve us, apologizing for long wait. Any request or question was kindly advised and nicely explained. We had an accident, our 4 year old got lost in the hotel, and had 4-5 staff were taking care of her while making efforts to find us. Breakfast was good with a variety of choice. The only thing to complain, it was too crowded. Overall, thank you for hotel staff for making our trip to Kuala Lumpur a nice memory.
