Excelent hotel in Osaka. Impecably clean rooms, friendly staff and excelent food. Really wonderfull experience. The hotel is conveniently located avove Keyhan railway station that gives you easy access to Kyoto excurisons. Trully a gem in Japan
"Luxurious and spacious, worth paying the premium"
Our room at this luxurious hotel was spacious with 2 wash areas for family of 3. Room was well lit and had numerous USB ports. Bathroom fittings looked new . The conceige was extremely helpful with suggestions of where and how to go; Mr Yamatomo even printed a brochure for KokoEn garden in colour for us. Frequent shuttle buses to Osaka station, 10:00 to 21:00: every 6 minutes, 7:45 to 10:00 and 21:00 to 22:15 : every 15 minutes. The journey takes about 10 minutes : we found it worthwhile staying in this hotel than one near Osaka station because of the spacious room. Would return to this hotel on our next visit. If you are a non-smoker, specify a non-smoking room : the passage way can reek of cigarette smoke. Our family of 3 stayed for 2 nights in late Sep
"Large hotel, room disappointing"
This seems like a great hotel from the lobby. However the room is very disappointing. It was small and outdated, with not a good view. The price was not modest for what you get. I am sure there are better option in Osaka.
"Glorious time in the past"
I staid 3 nights in the hotel as a friend was getting married there. I arrived early morning at KIX (Kansas International Airport) and took the limousine bus to Osaka station "Herbis" as that is the closest location to catch the free shuttle bus to the RRH (hotel's abbreviation) - I arrived around 11 am and asked whether I could refresh myself somewhere as check-in was only at 3pm - after back and forth discussion they told me to go to the 4th floor where I could use a dressing room: I had hug luggages but nobody helped and there my experience started which in overall was not very positive for a hotel that claims to be a luxurious hotel - below the pros and cons. pros: - located in a quiet neighborhood about 20min good walk from station at a riverbank: great if you want to go jogging - excellent room service (food was very good) - friendly FEMALE staff (MALE staff not friendly - like absolutely un-gentleman - super super comfortable bed, slept like a baby - people at the conciergerie were friendly - shuttle bus to Osaka station runs every 6min And that's about it. Cons: - unfriendly welcoming, no proper amenities to refresh - was literal brushed off at the reception - room(on the 10th floor) seemed not to have been refurbished since the 80's : carpet and chairs looked very worn out, bathtub contained yellow spots - I mean ok maybe for a 3 star hotel but luxurious hotel''!!! - out of space experience where they refused access to the restaurant to my friend who came with a newborn: baby was sleeping and quiet plus we were the only guests: in which century are we living''!!! - access to swimming pool is charged at JPY 3000 each time (so if you want go 2x: JPY 6000) - very disappointed about that as I chose the hotel also for the pool to exercise due to ligaments injuries Unfortunately the negative experience outweighed the good ones and once again I want to thank the FEMALE staff for the helpfulness and friendliness. Would I come back again - doubt it as Osaka is being provided with more and more good hotels (such as swissotel, Marriott etc) - I believe if RRH wish to remain competitive in the market they need to change their attitude, the mainly guests composed of mainly older Japanese persons might not last forever and they should not put all foreigners in one pot.
Stayed here for two nights during a week in Osaka. (Not consecutive nights) with a special room rate. Excellent hotel, comfy beds and superb staff. Disappointed that I was unable to arrange an earlier check in than 3pm
