"Returning to the top hotel in Osaka. 5 star to say the least"
I have stayed in this hotel over 50 times over the years. It was the premier hotel in Osaka until the Ritz and Westin opened. Well, they are back on top. No service equals this hotel, the restaurants too numerous to mention, the rooms in the tower are very large, modern decor yet comfortable. The lobby is fantastic with a stream running thru it. Highly recommend. Will hold its own with any hotel in Asia that is 5 star
"Modern nice hotel in The heart of Osaka"
Staying here at my last night in Japan..at the beginning of May... Situated in the heart of Osaka.. This luxurious hotel is kind of modern n nice hotel .. I saw it more as a business hotel... Luxurious lobby, many elevator n lift.. Spacious, clean n modern room Boutique n luxurious shops at the basement... Few. Chainstores... N the staff very warm and helpful.. What special for me was the breakfast.. A very large variety of food.. asian, japanese, western menu with great taste!!.. And it takes only few minutes from here to many popular tourist destination such as Osaka castle, Shinsaibashi shopping arcade, hard Rock Cafe, etc.. Very recommended!! Would definitely go back
"Very clean and very nice"
I am a picky person when it comes to hotels and this definitely did not disappoint. The room is spacious (we got a triple sharing) and there were 2 baths. It's location is also convenient. There is a connecting door to the shopping mall just beside it and then just walk and cross 2 intersections, you're at Sunshine City Plaza already where there are so many restaurants and shops to visit. Across that sprawl, the train station is already there as well.
"First and last visit (How many times can you say "No!"')"
We laughed about it after approximately the 10th time we were told "No." This is a hotel geared toward Japanese businessmen with large expense accounts. Definitely NOT FOR FAMILIES. Do not bother trying to let children of any age use the pool. First, at check-in, the manager informed us that "run-of-the-house" did not include the pool. Later, when I asked the kid at the desk to show me the pool he said, "NO." Just "No." I asked why not, he said there are no windows. Then he showed me a floor plan of the pool. No problem. Just walk me in. "No." Why not' Only pool wear allowed. I went to my room, changed into pool attire, and returned. I said, "Show me the pool, please." He huffed and told someone else to show me the pool. Later, I returned with my kids (in pool attire) and offered to pay the approximately US$30 each for them to use the pool. He said "No." Why not' They're not old enough. I showed him the same floor plan with rules which clearly stated that my kids were okay to use the pool. He reluctantly let me pay the ridiculous fee to use the pool. Again, he reluctantly allowed my kids to access the pool. My wife suggested we use the nearby spa to get a massage and relax. It was a good idea. Later, we called the front desk to make reservations for dinner at the nearby Italian restaurant. They called back and -- you guessed it, said No. At this point it was a running joke, so we we walked to the restaurant, were told that they had tables available, and enjoyed a most wonderful meal. The reason they get 3 stars is because the room was very spacious and the bell staff were excellent. Don't expect a nice family place. I will post my review of the AMAZING restaurant separately.
We arrived VERY late due to delays with our transportation. We were told at the airport there was a free shuttle from the Osaka train station, but wasn't told the service ended at 10:15, so we got a short taxi ride to the hotel. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The concierge went above and beyond in assisting us with directions around the city and the best way to travel to Kyoto. The room was spacious and comfortable. There were many shops and convenience stores on site. We only stayed one night so we didn't use the amenities, but would definitely stay there again when we have more time.
